I wore out my first PD 35 , it quit working for some reason? I read a review that said (after I ordered it) the 18650 battery would not work with this light. I have four of those and didn't want to throw them out but thought I may have to. When the light came the first thing I did was try the battery and it works just fine! So I am happy with the light that has served me will for many years!

It's my best guess that they removed the battery protection circuitry that was likely in the previous PD35 model. This wasquite disappointing as a had several 18650 batteries that no longer work with the new flashlight.That said, the PD35 in general is my favorite flashlight. In turbo mode, I call it "The Daymaker." Point it at the ceiling and feel like it's noon. You effectively have a car headlight in your hand. What's generally more useful is the low light modes and ease of switching through them so you can save both the battery and your night vision. This flashlight comes with me for night flights, the strobe mode is great for getting attention when yelling won't do it, including getting the attention of a small plane half a mile up.I think it's the best handheld 18650 light out there, especially given that it has accessory options and has worked for me for years.

I own several Fenix lights and they always outperform my expectations.

This is a good dependable flashlight. I use it for work, lights up a whole room. It works so well, this is my second PD35 purchase in 3 years.

I needed something to blind my neighbors who run their outdoor light 24/7. After midnight I send them payback. Thanks!

Compact, yet very bright!

So I bought this "updated" product based on the runtime hours. So upon receiving it, I charged up 2 new Fenix 3500Mah batteries. I put one in my pd35 Tac and one in the new pd35 version 2 and turned them both on to turbo setting(1000 lumens). The new pd35 version 2 rated to run 2 hr. 50 min. failed to run on turbo at 2 hours, while the pd35Tac continued on even though it is only rated to run 1hr. 10 min. The new pd35 version 2 also got much hotter to the touch. The only thing the pd35 version 2 did better was the throw of the light was a little farther due to the reflective cone being tighter by the LED.

Excellent light for the money, as good or better than my surefires
