Lee Kum Kee Yuzu Flavoured Chilli Sauce, Vegan, 140 g (Pack of 12)

Wow. This chilli sauce is far, far nicer than I'd anticipated. Lee Kum Kee have always been masters at making really good quality sauces, but while I expected to enjoy this, I didn't realise how much I would. The addition of Yuzu into the recipe beautifully tempers the sweetness of the chilli sauce. The sauce is thick and gloopy - a little like Hoisin. While there is chilli here, it's definitely on the minor side, so I'd expect that this sauce would be suitable for just about everyone. My first taste was with some breaded chicken, which in itself was fairly bland. This sauce elevated it to something that I'd order again, had I relieved it at a Chinese restaurant. I can imagine that this would work wonderfully with duck spring rolls, or as a dip for all manner of things! The bottles are fairly small, but I really like this as the contents will remain fresher once opened. The number will keep me gong for ages and the price is entirely reasonable. For me, this might just replace my Sriracha fixation and might also replace my use of tomato sauce for a good, long while. Highly recommended.

Tastes a bit unusual for my liking. I can't rate it too low as I can understand how somebody would enjoy it, however I found it too sharp tasting.

These are such cute bottles and I like the fact that they're smaller as easier to store, as I don't like bottles being opened for too long, even in the fridge. Great taste to this too (I had the Yuzu) although I do like a little more heat to my chilli, this is just fine as a lovely and sweet chilli sauce, espically so for dunking within some halloumi fires - yum! Overall, a very nice flavour with an added zest with the yuzu.

It tastes great and I've given a few bottles out to family after using it over Christmas. Will be trying the other flavours soon

This sauce is absolutely delicious! Heat level on this is pretty low, I could barely detect any spice from it, and it's labelled just one out of five chilli's, but for me, it's all about the flavour rather than heat. Texture-wise, it's like a thick sweet chilli, but with a tangy twist to it - I had it with some dippy food earlier and just could not help but go through near enough an entire bottle. Lucky I have another 11! This is a very good quality multipurpose sauce that you can use for dipping, or for throwing in the pan with some chicken. For the price, you get 12 bottles which I think is great value, I'd definitely recommend this, even if you just buy a single bottle to try!
