These watering plant spikes are ideal for my indoor plants. I have a brown thumb and these are exactly what I need to keep my plants properly watered. The caps on the top really do prevent the water from evaporating and the water from draining too quickly. Keeping them at a 90 degree angle will slow down the drainage where as a slanted spike will drain faster. Some folks have said the caps didn’t work well, but mine fit well and did not leak when I turned the spike upside down. Plus, they are SO Cute! Just remember they are glass and can break if not careful.

I’ve used blown glass watering globes in the past, to make it easy for people to keep my plants watered when I’m on vacation. Beautiful, but fragile, and the constant need to remove them to add water leads to stems too easily broken and the early demise of my investment. Of the four I originally bought, only one remains and that stem, too, is shorter than it was, due to breakage.These green globes have two advantages over the blown glass—they are far more solid and because you add water through the tops (I use a small funnel), they never need to be removed, so no more breakage caused by the need to remove them to add water. Much easier for my stand-in waterers, as well.

You have to put a piece of fabric or paper towel over the drainage hole or it will just run out. They know this is an issue as they include several rubber bands. Problem is, when you stick it in the pot, it easily tears the paper towel. I've found I can use these for some plants that are large enough to angle the insert. However, because the globe is heavy, you must be careful that it doesn't tip over - won't work on smaller plants.

Very pleased by how they look, they are cute and love the fact that you can water from the top. It was well packaged because they definetly feel delicate. They're not overly large but they are draining nice and slowly into my plants. So far I'm very happy 😊.

The water only lasts one day regardless of the angle or if I double up the wet wipe on the end

The water would either drain very quickly or the stem would become clogged with soil and not drain at all. I was checking my plants more with these Inserts than I did with just a reminder on my phone.

I love these for my hard to reach plants and tropical plants that require water more often. I love the opening at the top for easy refill.
