God of Pain

Cray Cray for Creigh and Anni!
4.5 🌟Absolutely devoured this! Really liked the first book, but feel this was a step up for me in terms of the emotional complexity. I feel it probably comes down to your preferences of tropes / couple dynamics though.Creigh is next level controlling and dominant! I really enjoyed seeing his emotional journey and understanding his previous trauma. Also his relationship with Eli is surprisingly adorable and just seeing how much the whole King family care for him.And Anni is a really likeable FMC! She’s naive at points but loved seeing her grow and mature!I definitely preferred the plot of this one. The twist reveal and then the stuff on the island, was really well done. The island part had me literally crying as both seemed so broken. On to the next one it seems!

Enjoyable
I really enjoy how Rina writes banter between her characters; so many times I burst out laughing at things Creighton said/did and also how Remi responded. That said, this book started off incredibly sweet which later turned a lot darker (a contrast from God of Malice).Overall, I sort of wish Creighton’s backstory was woven into the chapters better because I did feel some things were rushed. There was also a point where I struggled to continue (I was getting kind of bored), but I’m glad I persevered nevertheless because the story really picked up after that and kept at that pace until the very end.Sadly, I didn’t think God of Pain was better than God of Malice. However, it’s still a solid book.Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Fated
Beautiful twisted romance with so many intricacies and characters history. It's about a beast of a God , who falls in love with a purple princess, but the path to actually admit it is very long, difficult and painful.

Better than book 1 but
Pros- Anni was a well developed character.- Enjoyed the side characters especially Remi.- Story was interesting and kept me on my toes.- Plot was well developed.- Enjoyed the book from 50% and onwards.Cons- not a fan of Elsa and Aidan’s decision to keep the details of Creighton’s biological parents a secret. Hypocritical considering the impact Elsa’s Aunt and Uncle’s secret had on her mental state. I wasn’t a fan of how Aidan viewed Eli in his chapter.- Times when I thought the kink was taken too far and I wasn’t comfortable reading about a 17 year old being introduced to that lifestyle with very little understanding of boundaries and kinks.- Creighton's character was too controlling and aggressive for my personal taste but at least the sex and sexual scenes were consexual.

God of pain
We got introduce to these characters in God of Malice, and I loved where these characters ended. Annika and Creighton sunshine and grumpy silence, mixed in this brilliant explosive possession of feelings. As there world explode in to pain, pleasure, revelations, secrets, revenge, betrayal, danger, emotions and so much more. It was a journey and a intense one at that. Highly recommended read, incredible world builder and insane characters.

Cray Cray
Well Creighton is a whole level up of crazy from Killian. He is something else! I love how basses Anni is. How Creighton brought her out of her shell. That's what a good, if not crazy man does

Amazing dark romance
God of Pain is the second installment in the Legacy of Gods series, and it continues to captivate readers with its dark romance and intricate character dynamics. The story follows Annika Volkov, a mafia princess who finds herself drawn to Creighton King, a brooding figure with a mysterious past. The narrative delves into themes of power, desire, and the complexities of love within a world where emotions are as dangerous as the family feuds that define it.Overall, this book is a solid addition to Rina Kent’s series, with enough intrigue and character development to keep readers engaged. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to Kent’s work, this book is worth exploring for its darkly romantic narrative and its exploration of complex relationships in a high-stakes environment.

💜💜 Rina said that Anni & Creigh were going to wreck us - she did that and more.💜💜
I’ve been so excited for God of Pain because I hoped to get a glimpse of Adrian & Lia again 💜 Their trilogy is my favorite mafia romance of all time. So you can see why I was excited to see them again and follow Annika’s story. Rina seriously killed it with these two Anni & Criegh are everything I wished for and more. I 100% stayed up until 4am sobbing and rooting for these characters - if you know me, you know I love when a book makes me cry - I was feeling absolutely everything the characters were going through. This is what keeps me coming back to Rina’s books over and over.💜Annika is sunshine wrapped in a pretty purple dresses. Creighton is grumpy personified and lets you know it with just one look. Getting to know these characters was a ride and a half. The plot is dark, twisted and the spice is down right panty soaking.🫠 The push and pull between these two and their build up is EVERYTHING. 🙌🏻 I don’t want to give anything about the plot away but trust me when I say - You will not be able to put this down - There are elements of mystery and suspense that will have a hold on you. The side characters in Rina’s books always add a lightness and the perfect dash of humour - I still can’t get over how bloody hilarious Remi is though, his dramatics make me cackle. (Also the group chats have such hold on me, I swear I live for those parts.) Let me tell you, you are not ready for the spice Rina brings in this one. It was complete and utter perfection. 🥵🫠If you like grumpy x sunshine, praise kink, dark anti-heroes, mafia elements, mystery and a dash of “touch her and die” vibes this is the book for you.Now I patiently wait for God Of Wrath 😇

entertaining second book of the series
In the beginning I wasn’t so sure about the second book - but what can I say, I am a hopeless romantic and Annika & Creigh definitely grew on me. Only wish there would have been a bit more referencing the first couple, Glyn & Killian from the first book.
