Update: The reviews were right, do not buy this tea kettle, I had ignored the negative comments about this tea kettle and decided to buy it anyway because it looked so pretty and seemed it was the tea kettle I was looking for, however fast forward to October 2024 and it is starting to leak, I couldn't figure out where the water on my counter was coming from until one day I put it on a cloth pot holder (I don't like leaving any pots or pans on my stove top unless I am home) and when I got back the pot holder was drenched, mystery solved. The bottom of the tea kettle started to rust which created the leak. So sad and what a waste of money, I literally threw it in the trash along with my money.The following was my first review:I was looking for a good tea kettle that whistles but so many had such bad reviews, I decided to give this one a try anyway. So far I like it, however be very careful putting your hand in the kettle when cleaning the inside of it. I got cut on my thumb because of the way the metal is bent in the inside. It is very light weight and the whistle is not loud.

I like this kettle because of the wooden handle. It does not heat up as the kettle heats up. The lid works great and whistles good when its hot enough. Filling the kettle is easy enough. My only worry is the wood on the handle will start to wear more than the kettle. Overall this is a decent kettle.

I love kettles, especially whistling kettles. They remind me of a kinder time and my grandmother. this kettle looks nice and feels like real quality. It's heavier than most with a stable handle. There's a latch that opens the pour spout and a latch onto of the handle to close it. The whistle is loud but not annoying. it holds a nice amount for several large cups of your favorite warm beverage. My new favorite kettle.
