A few minor issues
Once up and running this is a really great dash cam as its small and discreet and quality of the footage is great, however I did have some issues.I ordered two for each of my cars however they both appeared to be returns as the bag for a cable was cut open and the other had a damaged SD card (looked all scratched!). However I didn't see any point in returning them because of this.At first they would not connect via wifi on my Android phone. To get it working I had to turn off wifi on the phone, open the app, then via the app enable wifi and connect to the camera. if you do not do it in this order the app will not connect to the camera! it took sometime to work this out...The video playback within the App is also very poor once the HD videos have been downloaded from the camera, it shows a green screen for odd frames and is very juddery. I can play the same video in VLC for Android where it works perfectly, so its not a major problem.Another annoyance is that the camera seems to save two versions of the video, one at the full HD quality and other very low quality version that seems to be used to stream from the camera to the phone via wifi. This take up extra space on the SD card and it would be useful to have the option to disable this. The online description for the camera says it can support up to 128GB SD cards, however the box says it can support up to 512GB cards. It would be useful if this was advertised on the page!Overall its meets my requirements, however it would have been better it is was easier to get up and running.

It has issues
I’ve had this Vision dashcam for a few months now and the recording quality is generally good, but it suffers from two major flaws.Any voltage drop while it’s starting up causes shutdown. If you own a small car turning on the ignition will start the camera, but if you then go on to start the engine while the start up sound is playing it shutsdown without any indication. The power cable is illuminated but the camera lights are off and no recording is taking place. Evidently the voltage drop at a critical moment during startup results in shutdown, as no indication is given I’ve driven around thinking the camera is working when it isn’t.Secondly any power failure results in current video segment being dropped – unlike the DC2 which shutsdown gracefully writing video to the SD card the Vision simply stops, dropping any un-written data. Having been in an RTC with one I barely got the crash itself as the cars power failed. Any crash that cuts the power immediately may result in no recording of the event at all.The supplied mobile software constantly suffers from “Unknown error” when trying to download the video clips. This seems to be caused by the ongoing recording, stop the recording and download works OK.All in the video quality (SuperHD) is a vast improvement over the RoadHawk 720p, but the lack of GPS, cheap feel of the mobile software and the other issues let it down badly.

Unobtrusive
Unobtrusive, easy to set up. Does make some funny noises from time to time though. Picture quality seems good and not having a screen avoids distraction

Bad product, worse support.
Product installed easily enough and was working fine for a couple of months, then I was involved in an incident and when I went to check the footage I found that the camera was intermittently not recording journeys and this particular journey was completely missing, I also found that I couldn't connect to the camera using the app anymore so I'm unable to change any of the settings or check if the camera is working.I raised a support ticket and sent it back to RoadHawk but they just said it was working fine and sent it back to me. I told them I was still unable to connect to the dash cam using the app but they just closed the ticket without any resolution.

Great camera
Confused by the previous review. I purchased a RoadHawk Vision from the RoadHawk website just over a month ago now.Absolutely blown away by the video quality. It's easily as good as my GoPro and far better than any other dash camera I have tried. It's so small that it fits between my windscreen and rear view mirror, without being seen from the drivers seat. It is hardly noticeable from the outside of the car, so I am happy to leave it fitted all the time. The app took a couple of attempts to download, but it is easy to use and easy to change settings. Previewing the video on the app means there is no need for a screen on the camera (which only ends up being a distraction) and being able to download video makes it great for saving.Only thing missing is GPS, but I did not buy this camera to see how fast I was going, it's there in case I have an accident.
