A very moving account of Doreen's life, simply a must read
I wasn't expecting to be moved to tears so much throughout this book, but I was.Doreen's story is moving and touching and although covers topics that a lot of Christians do not wish to discuss, it is told very matter-of-factly, in clear easy to read and understand language. Although, Doreen's life was very dramatic, the recounting of it in this book is not dramatic, it is simply stated as it happened.I was over the moon at the end of the book to hear that she married and had four children, the joy of it had me weeping.Besides an engrossing life-story this book is also a warning to both Christians and non-christians.There is only one way to happiness and fulfillment and that is through Christ.Whatever drew you to this book please follow the prompting of your spirit and buy it and read it for yourself.I only wish that I could have met Doreen, I would very much have liked to pray with her.I wish to her family of blood and in Christ the protection and the love of Christ always.

From Witchcraft to Christ An unbelievable, gripping true story, of one young woman's journey of struggles and challenges; to survive and feel wanted, rising out of a world of prostitution and demons, to become a new spiritual being. Her story sparks hope in the rest of us;. so inspirational .

I find it hard to know what to make of this
Long ago, as a recent teenager convert to Christianity, I read this book and thought it was amazing.I am still a Christian (now in my 40s), but I have come back to Christianity after leaving the church during a period of burnout, followed by a slow path back via the strange world of British neo-paganism. And it is my experience of neo-paganism that leaves me very unsure about this book, mostly because in it Doreen Irvine describes a world I just don't recognise. I have met a lot of people involved in witchcraft and Wicca, and they are nothing like the witches described in this book - whilst I would disagree with their beliefs, I have never seen any evidence that they were wicked or that they had some strange agenda to spread evil - rather, they (to a man or woman) seemed like earnest, sincere, good people: not only so, but I have never seen a single piece of evidence that the evil witches or the world of organised Satanism mentioned in the book exist. In all my years (about 6) of being involved with neo-paganism, there was never a sign of the thousands of Satanists and witches trying to recruit people to a life of evil, nor of anyone who had experienced anything like this. Neither do her descriptions of rituals and organisations sound like anything that I have seen: rather they sound like what someone might come up with if they watched Rosemary's Baby or a Hammer House of Horror movie.None of which proves that the book is false (proving negatives being notoriously difficult!), but it raises enough question marks for me to doubt the book's trustworthiness - and my questions are not helped by the fact that there are no ways to check the facts from the information given in the book. There are few dates, no names, few places specified until the time that Doreen commits her life to Christ. All of this means that you either believe her testimony, or do not - and my experience leads me to be sceptical. The book itself, if you were able to take it at face value, would make an interesting story, though the prose could described as 'plodding' if you were being generous - somewhere on the level of Dan Brown. So, alas, not much to recommend here - it could have been, if it had been a woman's story of how she escaped a life of poverty, prostitution and drugs to find new life and meaning in Christ.
