Over hyped and short lived.
You have to use this on a flat smooth surface. Any imperfection, or deep grout line will render this useless. Its not suitable for carpets, even short pile despite the adverts claims. You get 2 in a pack, which compensates a little for the lack of robustness. After a few tame uses in our dining room (the only room we could use it) the edges were falling apart. Great concept, and lots of fun for the short time they worked, but they need to be more powerful so they hover over imperfections.

Two for the price of fun.
These hover balls are great fun with a couple of caveats. One, it’s 2024 and these have AAA batteries still, three of them. Surely we can have a USB charged set by now.Secondly they only really work on a good flat hard floor like laminate or tiling but even some texturing can cause issues. They are a little noisy but if you have kids you are used to their toys by and large being noisy. They also are ok to kick but more like pass to be honest as there is no give and yes there is some bumper protection but it could still cause damage if booted. However they are good fun and to get two for under £15 is good value for money.

Battery compartment not very secure
We played with these hover footballs on a wooden floor, and the work pretty well, They glide over the floor when pushed when they are turned on, but not when they are off, as the air blowing out the bottom removes some of the friction between the 'ball' and the floor, but it doesn't visibly hover. My kids are on the younger side so they have played with them more by pushing them about with their hands and tapping them with their feet. They don't feel solid enough to be kicked hard by older kids, and I am not sure they would hold up to 8-12 year olds kicking them about. The battery case at the bottom takes 3 x AA batteries, and the battery compartment is secured by a screw, however the panel itself doesn't sit securely in, even with the screws in, and mine has popped out from the other side a few times when being played with and my kids have managed to get hold of the batteries, which I don't like. This is largely because the plastic is all very flexible and thin.

Poor
Hover soccer ball..really?Removed rugs from laminate floor so we have the 'pitch'As smooth a surface as you could have.Put in the 3x AA batteries turned on placed on floor and...nothing particularly.Figured it would be a bit like air hockey except the 'lift of air didn't 'There is the slightest bit of non traction certainly wouldn't call it lift..when kicked a bit across the floor it scrapes along and with taking the batteries out of the second one and kicking that one the scrape is negligible.Put it on the laminate between the joins to see if this improved it I.e 100% lift...that'll also be a no.Don't waste your money.

Possibly not for a 3 year old
My son is 5 and I am only just happy letting him use this. It is great value for money as you get two balls in the pack. You can use them inside but I would make sure that you supervise them. They are good fun and my son absolutely loves them.

Cool in theory - noisy and battery guzzling in practice
In this set you get 2 hover balls. What these are: They are very lightweight disks with polystyrene bumper edges and lightweight plastic hollow centres. Inside the hollow centre is a fan. When you put the batteries in (3 x AA batteries, not included) and switch it on, the fan switches on and makes the disk hover slightly. Then you can push it and it glides on the air-cushion provided by the fans.We tested it on several surfaces and found it works best on wooden floors, tiles and similar flat, smooth surfaces. It worked on carpets but had a lot more friction so didn't glide very far before it stopped. It glides much better on smooth surfaces. The polystyrene bumpers help ensure it won't scuff up walls etc if it accidentally bumps up on something. When the fan goes on it makes a bit of a noise - like a quiet version of a vacuum cleaner. It also has flashing lights to make it cool - I don't think the lights have any other purpose.I suspect it may eat up the batteries quite quickly so may not be the most economical way to play football. Also I'm not sure why they sell these in pairs. We found we only really needed one.

Poor quality
“TEMI 2 Pack Hover Soccer Ball” price when reviewed £ 16.99These hover balls are of very poor quality. The plastic casing is thin and clearly poorly moulded. When you switch the unit on, if you squeeze the case too tightly, the fan fouls the casing. I recently reviewed a similar item to this which was of much higher quality - better put together, rechargeable and it had a better light show. These hover balls work - but do not expect them to last - there are much better units on the market.
