5.11 Men's Recon Trainer-M

I was making a trip to the SW Border and would be on my feet all day but in hot desert locations. I was looking for something that would be light, breathable, but also durable. These shoes did the trick and then some! They shipped fast and I put them on right away to break them in, however the first thing I found was that they did not need to be broken in! There was no stiffness or rigid areas. The shoe fit like I had been wearing it for weeks. I wore these shoes for 7 straight days in 110 degree weather and they were incredibly breathable, no swamp foot, no sliding around. Dry as a bone and no stink. I have been wearing these now for a couple of months and there is virtually no wear on the shoe. For the price, these shoes are holding up great, feel great, and for the most part, look great. The branding on the shoe is a little much, but even then it is not flashy so it does not stand out too much.

Great workout shoes and great for crossfit / HIIT workouts.Good for weightlifting, short runs (<1 mile), box jumps, wall balls, DU's, etc. The tread is a bit aggressive and more suited for outdoor workouts but is perfectly fine indoors. These are also lightweight, very comfortable, and can be worn all day if needed. I travel for work and often bring these for that reason and the color I selected is suitable to wear with street cloths in a pinch.Note I also own a pair of Reebok Nano 4.0's which I prefer for everyday indoor workouts but if you have only one pair, workout outdoors, or need something more versatile, these edge out the Nano's.With these buy your normal size. For me I purchased the same size I wear in Reebok and New Balance and the fit was perfect.

Shoe fits just right. It’s the only shoe I wear without socks and doesn’t shafe feet. Are use it for running, rock climbing, rucking short periods of time, rope climbing. It’s perfect if you are sprinting, the traction on it at take off is outstanding. You can use these for every day use and they will hold for a moderate time. The plastic material on the outside wears off a bit sooner than expected but overall it’s a really good shoe. 5.11 has a new addition of this shoe but I like the design on the outside more than the new one. It’s the only shoe I have bought more than once.

I ordered these initially in my normal size 11.5 US. When I got them my toes were really tight in the toe box. I returned them and got a 12US. Fit great after that.Even though the toe box was tight on my initial purchase the shoes were still very comfortable and fit the rest of my foot well.If you have a larger foot I would recommend a half size bigger.If you don’t get the right size and you need to return them. The process is painless and surprisingly easy.

Got them yesterday. These are unique. Solid fit. My wide short feet went perfect with size selected. Color and velcro patch on back of shoe is nice. Started the breakin. Able to walk and jog comfortably down street with my dog. Will do more cross training. Flexible sole. Durable. Feet are feeling light. Protection is in all the right fitted places. Thank you. 😎

I'm sad 5.11 discontinued production of this shoe. Got these to exercise with to eventually almost anywhere. Dry fast, built strong, and look casual enough to wear almost anywhere. I've had the same pair for close to three years now. My feet have blown out 2 pairs of chuck's, a pair of Adidas, wolverine boots, and 4 pairs of kitchen grade slip resistant shoes since then. I dont recommend wearing in snow, a formal event or inside a grocery if you've been walking around in the rain you WILL fall and bust your rear.

These are indeed very good shoes. They fit true to size and very comfortable. I use them for work and also to work out. Some people mentioned that the shoelaces are too thin, I have no problem with them. Quite the contrary, they stay tight well. The sole of the shoe “hugs” the ground, and it is very stable. It really shows its stability as I do squats and cleans at the gym. Really light weight as well. I highly recommend them if you thinking about getting a pair.05-19-2015Buy it with caution!Unfortunately, I have to rewrite this review due to one of the pair is falling apart. Besides being comfy and stable, the seams on the left shoe come undone (sea picture). I did not expect that in such a short time. I only used the shoes to train for four times and other than training I just simply wore them for walking. On the positive side, the seller shopHydra took the shoes back without any hustle and refunded the many based on the 1 year manufacturer’s warranty. I only had to pay for shipping. So shoes not so good, service on the other hand was excellent.

I've always been a fan of Adida's shoes, but bought a pair of the 5.11 Recon Trainers and love them. I know shoe manufacturers vary in size, and I'm typically in between 11.5 & 12, so I bought these 5.11 in 11.5 and they fit fine, maybe slightly big.They feel so light on my feet. What I really like is how light they feel across the top of my foot. I don't like shoes that you feel strapped to your feet, so I am very pleased with these. They feel great doing squats, box jumps, jump rope, & running, and they're definitely more stable than the pair of Adida's I had before. Granted, those were running shoes and designed for a different purpose.One thing to note, I kind of wish I would have gone with the all-black color. The Shadow is nice, but the mesh is almost a blue-ish gray.

Hatte die gleichen schon mal in schwarz und die haben mehrere Jahre gehalten. Obwohl eigentlich für den Sport gedacht sind sie auch als täglich verwendeter Schuh hervorragend zu gebrauchen. Man spürt viel vom Boden durch, was eventuell nicht jedem zusagt. Ich kann die Schuhe sehr empfehlen.

I have to say these are great shoes so far but only complaint I have is that they are a bit tight on my toes. Ordered size 10 which is what I always wear but these shoes my toes touch the front. Next time I will order 10.5 knowing this.

inizialmente pensavo fosse piccola in punta e sul dorso, ma insistendo ho constato che il materiale si smolla e la scarpa diventa come un guanto inizialmente il materiale sembrava scadente ma poi mi sono ricreduto, ottimo grip, in omaggio una patch
