Completely Non-Slip Mat
I have used other "non-slip" mats that aren't non-slip at all. With this mat, I don't slip at all. Compared with other mats I have that are actually non-slip mats, I found that is was pretty cushy and comfortable on my knees, and I have had surgery on both knees. It's not as cushy as some of the mats I've used that weren't as grippy (had me constantly readjusting my hands during downdog or evan a little scared in downdog), but I find the extra grip to be much friendly on my joints than so much cushion as to have me not able to grip the mat or the mat not gripping the floor. I do sweat in my normal home practice and haven't had a problem with slippage there, but I haven't tried this mat in a hot yoga class yet, so I can't speak to how it would do if thoroughly wet. I wouldn't exactly say that the mat is "odor free", as it does have a distinct smell. I wouldn't really call it an "odor" either though as it doesn't bother me. It's not as strong as the smell of other yoga mats/doesn't smell like a tire shop, but that even that never bothered me as much as it seems to bother some anyway. It does wipe clean pretty easily (compared with some other mats I've used with a similar surface), but I will say that it does take longer to air dry than other mats I've used with comparable surface. Where the others I've used are usually dry in under 30 minutes, this one is never dry that soon and ends up being moved out of the floor and to a coffee table to dry while I head to work. I can't speak to long term durability yet because I've only had it for a few months, but so far it is holding up well. For the price, I'd say it's a good yoga mat and will stay in my rotation.

Light as a feather and sticky to boot! Updated!
I have been debating about what mat to get for months!!! I hate to shell out a bunch of coin and then not know if I’m going to love the mat. I’m a new yogi. I’ve been practicing a little over a year. I do yoga at a studio and at a gym. Hot and unheated. For unheated yoga this mat is fantastic!!! It grips so well. It’s long and wide and just gorgeous. I haven’t tried it for heated, but I spilled a little water on it and it was kind of slippery. I would use a towel for hot yoga anyway since I sweat so much. Seriously cooking butt soup in my leggings at every hot practice. I know you’re jealous. But that’s neither here nor there! Let’s get back to the mat... I got the blue marble and it’s lovely. I often have make up remnants on when I practice and it leaves a smudge during child’s and some other poses. Wipes right off!!! Don’t even have to use spray, just a towel and it cleans right off. Does smell a little rubbery, but it’s not strong and it gets better with each use. I’ve been using about 5 times a week for 3 weeks. This mat is so light!!! My old mat weighed a ton. This thing weighs way less than a bag of sugar! The strap is a nice addition but I don’t love it. I’ll get something else eventually. Don’t wait. You are going to be so happy you bought this mat—at half the price of some of those other brands! 8/13/20 My original post was obviously gushing over this mat. Years later and you bet, I still love it! I just purchased another. This time in the navy blue. The lighter blue marble did eventually show marks from my hands and feet that wouldn’t wash off. Strictly cosmetic. I have used the mat for hot yoga—and without a towel—and it’s fantastic! But I do have to remember to spread it out so it can dry after as it does hold the sweat. I still stand behind my review. Order this mat. Life is so yucky right now. You can at least count on this being a great mat and you’ll be that much closer to a deep breath and a little sanity. Namaste.

Love Love Love this Mat!
My husband convinced me to finally upgrade to a better may now that I have made yoga a part of my daily practice and I am so glad I did!!! My previous mat was perfect for beginner moves, extra cushy for support and didn't get to sweaty; but i noticed my hands always sliding in down dog or my feet sliding out in Warrior poses. Now that I am using this mat it has made a very positive impact on my daily practice. I never slide around and feel so stable and strong. It does have a small odor when first opened due to the rubber material, but it goes away quickly and i never notice it anymore. It does tend to attract pet hair or dust material easily, but i just wipe it down before and after my practice to keep it clean and it has never been an issue. I like to spray my mat with homemade essential oil cleaner, just to give it a fresh smell, but it really isn't necessary to keep clean as this mat does not hold moisture and repels water- so it is never sweaty after. I would image this mat may be good for hot yoga- although i have not yet tried it myself. It is definitely very sticky and stiff (which i love), but if you want a mat you can slide around on for your flow preference this may not be the mat for you. I have been using this mat daily for about 2 months and i am so very happy with my purchase, even my cat loves it too!

Better than Manduka Grp Lite hot yoga mat
EDIT November 2022: I really liked this mat at first but had to stop using it, and so I edited my review down to 4 stars. Though I cleaned and dried this mat thoroughly after each use, it is hard to get the smell out. I even scrubbed dish soap into both sides and hosed it down outside twice but it still smelled. I finally washed it in the machine a couple times and it made the surface bubble. Didn’t last very long. I recently switched to a cork mat and love it. I bought this mat after returning my Manduka GRP lite hot yoga mat and this one is much better, and much cheaper than the $115 option. It grips well while not being too sticky on my thighs when I roll through chaturanga/up dog. It is much lighter and thinner than the Manduka grp and other similar mats. I’ve been doing hot yoga for years and previously used a Manduka mat that had a suede-like top layer. I wanted to get a new one that I would not have to dry out daily and wash in the machine weekly. This one is very light and wicks away sweat (I am sweaty and this was still grippy). The only time I need to use my hand towel during class is when I’m doing a super hot (~110 degree) vinyasa flow class and I have to swipe away sweat from the hand area a couple times. For most classes that are ~90 degrees I do not have any issue with too much sweat. Glad I found this option for under $100 and am happy with it!

Have loved this mat for years
I bought this mat in 2021 and I’m only coming back to write this review in 2025 because it’s time for me to replace it. I am a hot yoga teacher and have taken this mat to over 400 yoga classes over the last 4 years — it has never developed an odor and it has honestly been the most reliable mat I’ve ever used. I’m only replacing it now so I can use the old one for outdoorsy yoga events and keep it separate from my in-studio mat. I will recommend this mat consistently for its thickness, strong grip, odor resistance, and water/sweat resistance. Highly recommend for hot yoga or hot pilates! Get this mat!!! My only recommendation is to buy a mat strap to go with it, I don’t think it came with one. (The picture I’m posting is after 4 years of consistent use.)

Perfect mat for hot pilates
Excellent yoga mat!! Even holds up great for hot pilates with no slipping. I wipe it down quickly after each class and it doesn’t have any odor.

Worth checking out
The mat arrived quickly and the rubber smell is minimal-I was able to use it without airing out first. The mat is generously sized, very light and soft; the grippy surface reminds me of the Lululemon mat. As far as performance, it’s great and I have no complaints. A couple of cons: - Scuff marks are apparent from transioning between poses (I bought the dark gray color) - This is a big flaw for me: when I folded the mat over to cushion my knees in camel pose, a big crease formed on the surface of the mat when I unfolded it. Maybe it will smooth itself out, but I’ve used this mat only twice and it already looks ‘broken in’. This one will not stay aesthetically pleasing. - Sometimes, I find the mat a little too sticky in balancing poses. If you are not bothered by creases, the price alone makes this mat worth checking out. For reference, I have practiced on Jade Harmony, Lululemon The Mat, Manduka Prolite and Gaiam Sol. I would say that this one compares performance-wise.

No slipping no smell
I LOVE this mat! I did my research and was going to get a MANDUKA until I read reviews on the IUGA. I ABSOLUTELY do no slip in hot yoga. I am an instructor and use my mat daily. I wasn’t sure I liked the longer length I really don’t need it and the mat only come in one length. As it turns out I like it. It popped up on a sale so I grabbed the opportunity thinking I could always keep it for a spare. It came in under 50.00! I chose grey but it’s really more of a dark charcoal closer to black. I don’t really care but to some that’s important. The other color choices were way to bright for me. As for curling just in roll the mat press it down and it relaxes in a few minutes. Don’t be late to class and you’ll be fine😉. Like any other mat I don’t keep it on my car in the extreme heat or cold. It gives me enough cushion for Pilates and yoga I am 68 and like a little cushion under these bones. Their customer service is fantastic I emailed them concerning the mat length to see if there was another option that I had missed. Cheri responded the next day and has even followed up just checking in. They really want their customers to be satisfied. All in all no smell, good cushioning, no slip, a little extra length, light weight, durable, affordable and the cute little bird Logo at the bottom is adorable 5 STARS.
