James review on Gimme, Gimme, Gimme Series 3
The Third and final series of Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and it's a must have. You see once again Tom and Linda serching for the right man. Its brilliantly done by James Dreyfus and Kathy Burke, even tho some jokes are obvious they still pull them off. Tom (James Dreyfus) is still waiting for his big chance in acting whilst Linda (Kathy Burke)Is still keeping her eyes on Jez her next door neibour who is married to a pregnant suze. Laughter from beginning to end.episode 1 - Down & outepisode 2 - Lollipop manepisode 3 - Secrets & fliesepisode 4 - Traumaepisode 5 - Singing in the drainepisode 6 - DecoyIt's watchable over and over and if you liked the other series you will love this. I didnt use to like Gimme,Gimme,Gimme much but sat down and watched it and loved it. There are 6 episodes altogether which makes it a classic and final series which you would not regret buying.Happy viewingJames

Comedy cold
You (i) can't fault this Series. James and Kathy were comedy gold in these 3 series. A friend borrowed my original DVD and I never got it back, so I just had to buy it again. Still makes me roar with laughter even now! Lindy would be my best friend!

Why so negative?
If you want to buy series 3, BUY IT! It's worth every penny. People have been way too hard on it, which I have to say slightly ruined my experience watching it. All I can say is ignore the negative comments and BUY IT!

Absolutely awful
I don't quite know what happened in the transmission between BBC2 and BBC1. On BBC2 it acquired a deserved 'cult status'. Excellent acting from James Dreyfus and Kathy Burke with excellent support from Rosalind Knight as the long suffering landlady Beryl.Series 2(2000)followed and was just as funny but not quite up to the standard of Series 1 (1998)The scripts were sharp and brilliantly written with one-liners coming thick and fast.I was looking forward to the new series in the Autumn of 2001 but was extremely disappointed with the first episode both Kathy Burke and James Dreyfus seemed to over act their parts sending themselves as a parody of their earlier characters and as a result this resembles nothing more than a badly acted pantomine with over the top storylines, one liners getting lost in the delivery or trying desperately to be funny. More than not some episodes simply end in mid air.Only Beryl (Rosalind Knight) stayed true to form, but many of the other characters and special Guests were a wasted opportunityI think that the problem is production, directing and directing. Sadly the late Liddy Oldroyd who died recently did not direct this third series.I'm glad that it won't be back for a fourth series as I feel that it would be stretching the bounds of credibility as it lost so much last year.Saddened by its rapid decline in just three seasons. One final thing why the jump from Series 1 to Series 3. What happened to Series 2 + the excellent Xmas'99 episode on video.Get this released and delete this series ASAP.
