Poor quality of the motor used
It got burnt very easily as the motor is really cheap quality. The smoke that came out smelled foul and hazardous. I would NOT recommend this product.FYI - This is a UK brand but the product is made in China.

Good Value
The lid can be tricky to open but once you are familiar with it and it has been used a few times, then it gets easier. I have had mine for 4 years and only recently has started to go wrong. I use my grinder at least every week, grinding peppercorns, agnus castus berries, fennel and coffee beans. All done with ease and the coarseness depends on how long you hold the button down! Not easy to clean but I just use kitchen roll after coffee beans, other than that I don't bother. Only downside is that the blades are not replaceable (as far as I can tell) and that is the reason why it is starting to go wrong. However, 4 years of constant use is definitely VFM. I would buy it again.

Average
Compared to my last grinder I wasn't overly impressed with this grinder from James Martin. I've never bought this brand before, so didn't know what to expect. I tend to use grinders quite a bit as I am a preserve maker by trade and like to use freshly ground spices in my products.I can't put too many whole spice pods in at any one time as it won't grind them down very well, where as my last grinder ground everything right down to powder form and took at least double the amount. It's not the easiest to clean after use either.Having said this, I must be fair and point out that it was quite cheap as grinders go, but I wouldn't buy it again.I have nothing negative to comment regarding the seller who forwarded it in good time.

Broke within less than a year :(
Great grinder and does a good job, but I've had it less than a year and the top lid section has already broken and it's now unusable.
