Easy install with screws into wood or trex stairs for extra slip protection. After slipping down the stairs, I got these. In WA, anything gets very slippery. These were easy to install and stay on great. We just had our first snow, and I was still able to clean off the stairs and they work great. Highly recommend.

I have these installed on my stairs so my older dogs (including a Great Dane) can go up and down the stairs during the rain and snow. These have performed great during the different seasons and temperatures. I was quite surprised they did so well when soaked in rain. I have confidence in going up and down in possible slippery conditions (if these were not there).My only complaint about these are the screws. The black coated normal #6 1/2 inch screws are not up to the task. The size makes it go into the stairs by the most 1/4 inch, which does not provide good securing to the stair. The black coated screw is not zinc or coated properly for outdoor and rusts quickly. I changed the screws to #6 1 inch zinc coated and then to a #7 1 inch zinc coated screw. Now no problems with the tread not staying. Also the washer is a pain to put in, wish the made the hole opening for it a little (1mm) bigger. Another problem with the screw, if it is not in all the way properly it will cause the tread to bow up and not be in contact with the stair. Longer screw solved this problem.Recently had freezing weather and these still worked properly and prevents slippage down the stairs. Got extra to do all my steps outside, even ones the humans use.

Product was packaged in such a manner that they were curved in a C shape to fit inside the box - in other words, the carpet strips were not laying flat on top of each other. So when I set them out, most of them had a "bump" of sorts in the middle. Also, they seemed to slid just a bit and I was skeptical on if they would not slid off the step.After a few weeks, the bumps have flattened out. You can still see some spots where the white backing is visible but I can ignore this easily enough. It's been a couple of months now and I've noticed two things. These DO NOT slip on the tread. Just before I signed on to add this review, I walked up the stairs and purposely stepped in such a way to actually try to get the strips to move. They stayed secure. Nice.Also, as you can see, I have a bullnose cap that rises just above each tread. I didn't like walking down the stairs because you definitively notice the difference in height. These strips have produced and unexpected benefit of raising the level of the tread to almost match the higher bullnose. I don't notice the difference at all now. Again, nice.On a side note, our Yorkie/Bischon had slipped on the stairs (third from the bottom) and hurt herself. After that, she didn't want to go down them anymore. We often had to carry her down the last three steps because she'd stop at that point. After laying down the strips, I helped her walk all the way down them a few times to show her that the stairs are not slippery anymore. Now she runs down them like nobody's business!In spite of a few minor negatives but for the price, ease of installation and how well they actually perform as intended, I would recommend them.

I looked and looked for stair treads before deciding on these ones and I'm very happy with them. I am not a big fan of stairs because I worry about the people or pets falling down them. These have made me feel much better about the safety of my staircase. These were easy to install. I installed them with my 12yr old helping me line them up so they were placed in a straight line. It was as easy as can be! I just peeled off the protective cover that keeps the nonslip bottom protected and put them where I wanted them. I was able to adjust them with no issues, they lay flat (with the exception of one with a corner that likes to lift slightly). That one tread is not a big deal though I just press it back down when it raises and like I said it is very slight. Since putting these on the stairs no one has had any slips including my rambunctious 2 kids, 1 dog, and 3 cats. It also protects my hardwood stairs from the dog's claws as she runs up and down them which is very nice. These are also pretty easy to keep clean. I have used a small broom to sweep them and it works fine but the best way to clean them is with the hand brush attachment on my vacuum. They look brand new once I've gone over them with the vacuum, which is saying a lot with the traffic they get. We are also in the middle of a big landscaping project which tracks in a lot of dirt. I ordered a dark grey and they look nice. When installing these I did make sure to clean the stairs really well getting any grime off that could make it hard for them to stick. They have been on my stairs for months now with no issues.

Well one box didn't even contain hardware ...so that sucked. The mats/treads were awesome, the hardware was oxidizing within 1 week! Just fo to a big box store and buy your own screws. Use the washers and mats only

The backs are not sticky.....but somehow they adhere to the stairs well.I was kinda disappointed when I first unpacked as it feels like they would slide around, but for some reason when applied to my steps it latched right on (painted wood steps).There are a few that have lifted slightly at the ends, but not by much.Having been using them for over a month now, including a dog who throws herself down them, and they have not slipped at all.

I love these. Easy to put on and they look beautiful. They're non skid and even my 3 legged shepherd can make it down without falling. I would recommend these without a doubt.

I had the toughest time finding a screw-in tread to use outdoors that wouldn't hurt my dogs' paws and didn't break the bank. These are perfect. Recently had driving rain that turned my deck into a slippery nightmare; these were a huge help to ensure my older dog could climb the stairs without sliding. So perfect, I'm buying more to expand the non-slip zone. Winter is coming!
