Great beginners rod. Easy to assemble and easy to use. Love the color. Weight feels just right and since it breaks down the size fits in my car.

Paired this baby with their saltwater 5000 spinning reel - (I forgot the exact model of her reel, but it's Kast King and 5000) Anyway, and she loves it so much that I have become a Kast King fanboy again. Never seen my wife smile so big over gear before, so I'm completely thrilled with Kast King, their impressive dedication to improving their products is remarkable. Penn should really pay closer attention to Kast King because holy crap, I've realized that all of my penn reels are junk now. They're in need of a cleaning probably, it's been a while but they shouldn't require so much maintenance. Kast King must seal theirs with better, more durable materials it seems. I think I'll be replacing my Penn reels with Kast King. I'm done being a brand loyalist when the brand is choosing to lower the quality of their products. 10 out of 5, I emphatically recommend this reel!

I've been fishing Drop-shot style since before it was called Drop-shot. We just called it fishin'... I fell in love with the beautiful colors of this rod and it's matching reel. Then I did some research on the Rod selection they offer. I chose the 7'2" Spinning Drop-shot version. My fishing partner (my oldest Grandson, Gabriel) loved the looks of it as well. After using it a few days I noticed I was catching more fish than my Grandson. He is 14, I am 61, his reactions are ten times faster than mine. He usually doubles what I catch. And laughs when i have to re-bait without a fish to show... I returned from a trip to the restroom. And found my Grandson fishing with my new Fishing Pole! When I asked why he was using my pole, "You're catching more fish than me!" was the answer. He proceeded to show me that indeed the rod felt more bites. Good thing he has a Birthday coming up soon... I want my rod back! lol

Pole casted amazingly and the spinning reel was smooth. Very sensitive feel. ********Unfortunately the top of the pole snapped during casting my first day out, due to what I believe is a defect. My new pole is on the way and customer service was able to help in a timely manner.

Was packaged great and well protected. Definitely worth the money lightweight and just what I was looking for
