Great book!
I can tell this one we will read over and over again! The story itself is very sweet and intriguing, and the artwork is fantastic. There's a lot to take on on each page and my kids love that!

Sweetest story to spark creativity
I didn’t think it was possible but I like this second book in the series even better than the first!

Great intro for Map Skills
Magnolia’s Magnificent Map is book in the Walnut Animal Society series by Lauren Bradshaw. It is almost time for the Saturday Soiree. It is Magnolia’s turn to share. Her friends are all busy doing their part to get ready, but Magnolia doesn’t have her map finished yet – and she will be sharing it at the party. Magnolia and Margaux go to the missing spot on the map and discover Chester is already there. Chester and Margaux help Magnolia explore the missing spot which allows Magnolia to finish her map.Lauren Bradshaw seems to understand young children. There are those who don’t like to leave a task unfinished – those children might just see themselves in Magnolia. Wednesday Kirwan illustrations go beyond the text and make a delightful addition to this picture book.As a curriculum connection, I could see a teacher using this as a read along when doing a unit on maps and map making. Students could be encouraged to explore an area and then draw their own maps.I will be including Magnolia’s Magnificent Map as part of my Mock Caldecott Unit later this fall. I love the book and hope it is a contender for the Caldecott. It will be interesting to see what my students think.I want to thank Cameron Kids for the review copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I will be placing this book in my school library for my students to enjoy.

Such a cute story!
My daughter's name is Magnolia and my degree is in Geography so there was no way I wasn't buying this for my daughter :) The story and the illustrations are super cute and my 4.5 year old loves it!
