Dongle Works Fine
This is a wifi dongle which gives your computer a wireless internet connection. Most computers of the last 2 decades have built in wifi, so the only reason to use this would likely be if the built-in wifi adaptor was broken or you wanted to upgrade your wifi from an old slower version to something faster. This is a nice small size, about half the length of an old style USB stick.Compatibility is only claimed for Windows PC, but I wouldn't be surprised if drivers are available for Mac & Linux computers. When first plugged in, the device is recognised as a USB stick which has the installed driver.Run the executable and the driver is installed, and you get your working dongle.Once installed, the device is is recognised in the devices list as a 'Realtek 8811CU LAN 802.11ac USB NIC'.So, this is a Wifi 'ac' device, equivalent to Wifi 5. (The most recent wifi standard is Wifi 6 or Wifi 'ax').It works both on the 2.4GHz and the 5.0GHz frequencies, so it has backwards compatibility. It is theoretically able to transmit data at 600mbps, but real-world speeds will be much slower than this, partly because of the (likely) under-powered processor in the dongle.I tested the maximum speed during upload and download. It was 28MB/sec (224mbps) in both directions. This is quite respectable, and enough for pretty much every use scenario, from browsing to streaming to gaming. It is a little bit on the slow side for data backups to a NAS, but still manageable.I will add that my own laptop's built in wifi adaptor is able to transmit data more than 3 times as fast as this. One aspect I didn't like as much, was the fact that the device wasn't even recognised by Windows until the built-in driver was installed. I would have preferred to let Windows find the most appropriate driver (as that is safer), but the device didn't even appear on the list of available (network) devices until their bundled driver was installed. That forces me to use their driver, which maybe I would have preferred not to do.So, a nice small wifi dongle which was simple to install, works as it should, is reasonably fast. I just didn't like the driver installation process.

Great dongle
Used to connect an old XP laptop to new Virgin Media Hub5. Great product, has storage built in, ran an install when I plugged it in and working within 2 minutes. No messing with Dvd or drivers. Highly recommend

Doesn't work with XP
This doesn't work with Windows XP. The system detects the new device and goes through the usual dialog boxes but says it can't find a driver for it. On plugging it in a new CD appears but it disappears straight away. FYI, it installed and works fine on my Windows 10 system, but not on my XP system.I messaged the seller with the above 9 days ago and haven't heard back anything at all. So much for the claimed "24/7 technical support" -- they have, however, removed "XP" from the headline "Compatible with" list (of course, they couldn't remove it from my invoice...). LOL!

CHEAP BUT STILL DOES THE JOB.
Bought this just for an experiment to see if it worked as good as another brand which i paid £16 for, to my surprise it did the job just the same, i am impressed with this cheap WIFI USB extender and i would recommend buying it for sure. When installing you go to your CD DRIVE to install the driver which i found slightly odd but thats how you install it. All in all ... Great value for money.
