This book was better than most that I have read about aquaponics. Most authors just go on and on about how great the veggies are, but Gaia actually tells the reader the steps to take to get set up, and uses a few helpful diagrams to help us visualize the set up. I do wish the author had thrown me a couple of recommendations for pumps to compare and the recommended ph levels, but basically gave a really good foundation for beginners like me that are researching for their first setup.

In the beginning one does not need to be overly dosed with all the science and mechanics of the system. So, this is a cheap and easy read to see if such a system will fit your needs. However, I recommend other read and a bit more extensive education on the topic before you plan out and build your system.

This book is good if your looking for the basics. Out of all the internet searches I couldn't find what the best ratio for starting an aquaponics system. This book has that information. I think if you are like me just starting to look into aquaponics this book is a great reference for the price.

Great book has alot of information

DO NOT BUY!!! I opened the package took out the book and in 5 seconds I felt robbed. You can find this info on any generic Aquaponics website. In fact there are youtube videos with more information. The book is only 45 pages long, the first 8 pages are just filler and the book actually starts on page 9, THEN, the last 8 pages are just advertisements for the other books they sell!!! I am certain are just as much of a fraud as this book is. I repeat, DO NOT BUY! Don't buy any of their books!

I found this to be a very helpful book. It's truly a step-by-step book for someone who is not familiar with aquaponics, or someone who wants to begin the venture and do it in the proper order. I love that the needed decisions to get started are presented in order. Very useful who wants to know more or actually wants to begin the process. Pretty comprehensive with recommendations and suggestions, too.

It's an ok book. It could use more details and illustrations. I was expecting a lot more from a Rodale book.
