Might be causing a divorce but my feet will be warm
I bought these booties as something to wear as my feet were wrapped in paraffin wax (use a plastic bootie over the paraffin first so the wax doesn't get on anything) because it would help the warm wax last a little longer extending the pain relief benefits of paraffin wax treatments which worked. I also realized these are fantastic to wear when my feet are cold on the couch, after a hard day on my feet, or warm them up before I head to bed and put them on as I snuggle up in bed however my husband had a deviated septum for many years with snoring that was reaching new levels of torture and I got fed up pushing him all night to roll over to stop snoring that I finally convinced to him have his nose fixed which means he can now smell things and it's biting me in the butt. These have a smell, I don't think it's rice inside them because it doesn't feel like rice but it's definitely some sort of dried grain and when you microwave these booties the smell is very noticeable and my dramatic husband hates it. I have migraines that are easily triggered by smells so I'm empathetic to his complaint however I have chronic pain issues so these booties are the only thing that makes my aching feet feel good so what does he want me to do? Give these up and suffer?? The answer is yes, he wants me to suffer and he got his wish. I accidently overheated them and it smelled similar to burned popcorn which is one of the most repulsive smells to ever exist so these have been banished to the garage to cool off (the smell filled the house) until I can figure out if I can ever use them again or if they are ruined (I'm leaning towards ruined). If you do heat up the best way is 30-45 seconds at a time flipping them over and shaking them up until desired level of warmth is met but don't do it longer than 4 minutes total (I did it 5 minutes and that's when it went wrong). I did try spraying peppermint essential oil spray on them before and after microwaving hoping it would mask the smell but it didn't help so then I applied pure essential oil to the soles before and after microwaving but that didn't help either. While he finds the unpleasant I find it enjoyable so I'm going to stand by 5 stars and say that the smell is one of those things where it comes down to preference because it doesn't affect the effectiveness of the product and it's great quality made product.Pros- easy to warm up in microwave - comfortable to wear - warmth lasts for up to 45 minutes when warmed up to max tolerable heat - also great to use as heating pads for other body parts (I used on my back, pelvis, neck, and face (great for migraines), and even put my hands in them after being outside - very well made with strong stitching and soft durable fabric. *Didn't wash them yet so I can't speak to that, I also washed my feet immediately before using themMaybe Cons- has a distinct grain smell that lingers when warmed up - won't fit above a size 10 womens/ 8.5 men's in US sizing due to length but also the opening is kind of narrow so if you have wide feet these won't work for you

Best gift ever
To start i will say no one ever thinks about heated footwear. It is the perfect gift for anyone you could know that has an "I'm too cold" problem. I got this for my partner because she often needs a blanked wrapped around her during movies or games, etc. They work perfectly. You throw these bad boys in the microwave for about a minute or two and your off. They smell like aromatic seeds and spices when coming out and when you slip them on your feet they are so warm and feel amazing. They never get to a point of uncomfortable heat and they feel very soft. The only problem with them is they don't wrap your foot rightly so you have to use them in a still position or bind them to your ankle somehow.

Works as advertised, not the best design
Due to poor circulation, my feet get (and stay, even with socks/slippers) super cold. I just got these and heated them up for 1.5 minutes (warm but not hot). The lavender smell is pleasant and they stayed warm for about a half an hour. In a seated position with feet on the floor, my feet got nice and toasty. However, the booties are quite large and if I tried to move around, they'd likely slip off my women's size 8 foot. As others have noted, the design could be improved by 1) some sort of strap or velcro around the ankle to prevent them from slipping off, 2) adding some warming seeds on the top part of the bootie and not just the sole, and 3) some sort of sectioning so that if you prop your feet up, the warming seeds etc don't just fall to the heel. That said, they totally did the job for me and I'm pretty thrilled to have a solution to my froze toes!

Microwave for warm feet.
It doesn't burn the top of your toes which is an improvement over the Hot Booties which appear to no longer be available. The problem with them is when you put your feet up the beads fall to the bottom and your toes get cold. This is a major oversight. The Dr. told me that varicose veins cause cold feet and to elevate my legs. This is an obvious design error. I took them to the seamstress and she fixed them so that the beads don't fall to the bottom. There is not a lot of completion in microwaveable foot heaters. I recommend getting these and taking them to a seamstress and having her seam them on the bottom to keep the beads under the toes.

heat only on soles. poor fit.
These booties are too loose, and have heating only in the sole. The maker should add quilted chambers on all sides and tops of feet to provide heat around the entire foot. Almost useless.I don't at all like the smell.avoid these (until a product improvement).
