This is a great set of casserole dishes that don’t have a knob on top. You can stack things on top of them & lids could actually b used for baking small pies & other things.

I bought this set of round glass casserole dishes so I could keep my food out of plastic, and plastic out of my food. I use them to fix everything from salads, soups, and spaghetti. I cover the dish with its nice-fitting lid, and it's ready to eat or heat when I come home. Salads stay fresh and don't dry out during the day. the dishes stack easily --- saving room in the fridge. The lids can be used as plates, or to heat things in the oven or microwave. They can be used in many ways. I hope the manufacturer will add a really deep dish to the lineup.

Looking for a handy, reasonably-priced deep-dish pie baker and came across this slick casserole dish and figured, why not! It's a great size to suit that purpose, as well as others - from apple pie to full-size roasted chicken. Handy to have a dish that will go from oven to table with a decent appearance. When baking a pie, you can actually see what's going on and how well the round of the crust is from top to bottom, something you can't see in those fancier, attractive, ceramic pie dishes. Having a lid, makes it even more useful when refrigerating, not having to cover with plastic wrap or tinfoil. I have used a similar dish by this manufacturer to make my favorite rice pudding, comfort food, and it works very well for that also. I am pleased with this product and have a lot of confidence in the manufacturer. It was delivered in a protective carton and I would not hesitate to buy it again if needed. The size is larger than most and can accommodate all kinds of food in large amounts. The ends are extended and acts handles making it easy to grip when bringing it from the oven. The lid fits well making it a well balanced container.

Number one, before buying this set, get some measuring tape so you can see the size of the set. One person made a point of not being happy with the size, and frankly the size is accurate, which means that person didn't fully understand what was being offered. That being said, the set is nice, and convenient for all meals that fit within its dimensions. I just pulled the largest dish out of my oven. It had a 1.5lb loin roast. At least half the juices in the dish is at the bottom of my oven. Here's the problem: The glass is not as thick as most casserole glass is, which means you have to be careful handling it, especially since the lids do not seal, - they simply sit on top - so pulling it out of the oven can be dangerous, there is no real grip to the glass handle/sides. Think of picking up a glass plate that has been smeared vinegrette dressing on it. Now think about trying to move that plate from a 400 degree oven with an oven mitt with one hand. I had two mitts, and the casserole dish slipped from my hand and to the bottom of my oven. Fortunately the rack prevented it from breaking and totally destroying my electric oven coils. Since my oven is on the floor, I couldn't bend down quick enough to prevent this. So, bottom line: I like the set, especially for salads, fruits, etc., but for hot dishes, I'll use it only in the microwave and toaster oven, which should make it easier to be mindful of its limitations. I may still return this, but I'll do it only if the downsides of the set continue to be a problem, because I'd much rather spend 38.00 on one good casserole dish, than to keep risking incidents like the one I had today on this set.

I give it 4 Stars due to lid can't be used in the oven, the casserole dish may hold a lot however it is a pretty large shallow container and due to the handles won't fit in our smallish size microwave. I was expecting this to be a deep casserole dish with a smaller circumference ~ though this will be quite okay for larger family size or casual meals for company coming for Shepard's Pie or Macaroni and Cheese type dishes are usually baked without a lid! The lid is good to use for room temp or cool foods serving platter and of course to cover the casserole leftovers stored in the refrigerator!

Wonderful and durable

These bowls work so well with fridge to oven dishes. They are a good size for a family of four. The clean easily if sprayed ahead of time for casseroles. The best part is that they stack inside the lines and inside one another for compact storage.

Good for cooking in microwave

Now that we are empty nesters, these dishes are a great size for us.
