I tested this with my Google Chromecast HD, and it worked as advertised. Plug the USB-C 5V power into the adapter USB-C female port and the USB-C male cable on the adapter into the Chromecast USB-C port and it's truly Plug and Play as claimed (I had to disable the Wi-Fi adapter on the Chromecast of course). I compared this to another cheap USB-C to ethernet adapter that I bought that cost a few dollars more and found the performance identical. However the other adapter has a plastic case compared with the aluminum housing on this adapter which I prefer because it's obviously much more robust. This adapter is only capable of 100 Mb/s (fast ethernet speed only). Using iPerf for speed testing, my baseline reference on my home network is 95 Mb/s for a direct cabled PC with a 100 Mb/s adapter. As I couldn't test this adapter on a PC I used my Pixel 7. On the Pixel 7 using this device as a simple ethernet adapter my throughput measured with iPerf was 94 Mb/s. So there's a little throughput loss (2%) for this adapter used on an Android phone but I can't determine if this is due to the phone or the adapter or both. In addition I baseline tested my WiFi on my Pixel 7 with iPerf as well getting 39.3 Mb/s throughput. When using this adapter to create an ethernet tether for the WiFi on the Pixel 7, I measured 37.1 Mb/s throughput. That equates to a 5.6% speed reduction. So there appear to be some speed losses when using this adapter, although nothing that serious. My only niggling complaint is the network activity LED seems to flash a bit slowly compared to other network status LEDs I've seen. I was able to use this device on a Google Chromecast HD as well as a Pixel 6a and Pixel 7. This is a solid choice for an affordable USB-C to ethernet cable network adapter that can be as a Chromecast ethernet adapter as well as for other newer Android devices with USB-C ports.

I've had the strangest darned time with my internet connection on this computer. If I plug in an SSD drive, any SSD drive, either another drive stops working or my ethernet dies. It's not a power issue (I've replaced everything but the motherboard and CPU by this point) so until I've got the courage, time, and money to replace one of those, I picked up this lil alternative that somehow magically lets me use my drives and still have internet at the same time. It is currently plugged into a PCI card that gives me extra USB-A and USB-C ports. Whatever conflicts I was encountering seem to have evaporated. Not only do I have internet, now, but it's stable and faster than it has been in ages. Since my mother basically has the same computer I do, I'm saving the second one to install on her PC if she shows up with the same problems I do; she might never do so, since she doesn't have as many crazy drives as I do, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared! I can't speak as to the longevity of this device, yet, but I'm hoping it lasts as long as this computer does! I'll update this review if I run into any trouble or problems.

I got this for my Chromecast. This device works great for my Chromecast device. I like that this device is very compact and fits well behind my TV. The device powered up and provided power and Ethernet to my Chromecast. I like that the USB c and Ethernet connection is strong and secure.

These adapters work very well. They are easy to just plug in and go, nothing to set up and we have had no issues with connectivity. You get two of them which is even better, so I say it's definitely a decent value for what you get.

This is a great substitute for a Chromecast with Google TV power adapter with ethernet. In terms of spec, it's essentially the same, except it doesn't include a USB C power adapter. I substituted this adapter and a PD power adapter for the OEM Google one, and it performed the same. It was recognized right away and I was streaming at a much lower latency than with the WiFi in my house. The only thing I'd change is to include 1000Mbps Ethernet. This is 2024 and that's the standard today. Why not give this adapter some longetivity? Overall this is a RECOMMEND from me!
