Deluxe body cream with a continental touch
I once ended up, thanks to weather delays, spending two miserable days in the Newark airport. The L'Occitane store provided a fragrant haven amidst the unwashed hordes rushing to catch a flight. I became a lifelong fan. This body cream, made with artichoke (doesn't "artichaut" look so much cooler?) smells sublime and hydrates the skin, perfect for bedtime use. Step out of the shower, massage the cream all over the body: a spa experience in a very attractive jar. L'Occitane says that the cream will firm the skin and eliminate cellulite, but I suspect that any apparent results are a function of the extended massage that's supposed to work the cream into the skin.I am not a fan of strong or heavy scents, but the fragrance is subtle and vanishes almost too quickly. However, if you are scent-sensitive, this may not be the cream for you. The complete ingredient list, since I don't see it here, from the L'Occitane site: AQUA/WATER - OCTYLDODECYL MYRISTATE - BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII (SHEA) BUTTER - GLYCERIN - CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE - OCTYLDODECANOL - PROPANEDIOL - CETEARYL ALCOHOL - CAFFEINE - ESCIN - CYNARA SCOLYMUS (ARTICHOKE) LEAF EXTRACT - HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL - MENTHOL - XANTHAN GUM - CAPRYLYL GLYCOL - CETYL ALCOHOL - CETEARYL GLUCOSIDE - CARBOMER - SODIUM GLUCONATE - SODIUM STEAROYL GLUTAMATE - ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN - SODIUM HYDROXIDE - TOCOPHEROL - PARFUM/FRAGRANCE - EUGENOL

Fancy, lovely presentation (great gift for mom, perhaps?) but spendy
This review is for the L'OCCITANE Artichoke Body Cream: Redefining and Cellulite-Reducing, Visibly Firmer Skin, Improve Skin Microcirculation, Intense Hydration, Artichoke Leaf Extract, 7 OzI looooooove the L'occitane brand! (Prounded 'LOCKS-i-tan' IIRC), a higher-end French beauty brand. I generally love their hand creams and anything lavender scented. This is neither of those, so I don't have another L'occitane product specifically to compare it to. I can say, it's the first beauty product of ANY type that promotes the incredient, the Artichoke. I do love artichoke flowers! And well, this is nothing like that, but I do love this cream as well.IMO the price is too high, for its purported benefit that I personally have not yet noticed any difference with (cellulite management). Despite that, I love the subtle fragrance and the cream feels very nice on my skin - not greasy or oily, and it did not leave any residue on my sheets. It also comes in super high-end / luxury-looking packaging. It's probably the first body cream I've ever purchased that comes in a glass jar! FANCY! But...be careful if keeping it in the bathroom if you have pets / kids / clumsy partner (or if you happen to be the clumsy partner), since dropping this on a ceramic tile floor in the bathroom is gonna make a HUGE mess. Don't ask me how I know... But that's not their fault, and factors not at all to my review rating. Really, the minus 1 star is because of the price and lack of true benefit after a week of use, with comparing left to right thigh for any sort of skin texture differences.Speaking of cellulite, while this is perfectly presented for a gift, I think it'd be a hard sell to give to mom for mother's day, as you're saying "hey mom, I love you, I want to get you a fancy gift, but I also think you need help with your cellulite"? Tread careful...Unrelated to my review, but just FYI, mine did come with the top foil partially off, allowing for a small amount of spillage. I did not factor this into my rating whatsoever.

Divine
I’ve been a L’Occitane fan for years. I’ve probably tried almost all of their products, including the fragrances, (ESPECIALLY the fragrances) soaps, hand and foot creams. I love that they do little packs, bags, and boxes with smaller travel sizes, so you can get travel sizes of all the products and find which work best for you. I could spend ages in a L’Occitane store. Obviously, when a L’Occitane store is not available (we don’t have one in our town) being able to order it online is very useful. This i a hefty sized jar of body cream, made with Shea Butter, which is excellent, L’Occitane do have a tin of pure Shea Butter, which is a highly moisturising ingredient, and they do feature it in a lot of their products This Artichoke cream is no exception. It’ a nice, beautifully presented heavy jar, that looks beautiful in my bathroom. It smells gorgeous, applies easily, an soaks in beautifully. It feels rich and luxurious, because it is. I don’t skimp on moisturizer whether it’s face or body, because I’m at that age where i really need it, and we have very dry air here. Hydration from the inside and the outside are both important. So despite the price (and it’s not that excessive) i do recommend it.

Great Product
I'm a fan of L'Occitane products so I was excited to try this one. I do love how nice this body cream feels on my skin. It glides on well and is very soft and absorbing. However, despite the claims I find on so many products of being visibly firmly, I never seem to see or notice a difference when I use creams and lotions that are supposed to be firmly. The same can be said for this product. However, I do love this cream and how moisturizing it is. The jar it comes in is beautiful too. And while the scent is not my favorite, it's light and not over-bearing which is what I prefer.
