Bittersweet Homecoming

There are a few lesfic authors out there who write real, believable characters who you can imagine could exist in real life. They have flaws and make mistakes and sometimes mess up. Badly. Suzie Carr and TB Markinson are two of those writers; Eliza Lentzski is another and Abigail in this is one of those characters. The skill of all these authors is in still making their flawed characters likeable and relatable to.Eliza Lentzski writes romantic fiction with a sharp edge. Life isn’t perfect and there aren’t usually HEA’s a la Mills & Boon. But that’s not to say that there’s never a hopeful or uplifting ending. Ultimately, this is a sweet story (without being over-mushy) which I really enjoyed. May even be my favourite by this author (and I’ve read all of her books on Kindle). For that reason alone, I’ll give it a 5!

Dare I say this book was better than Winter Jacket and Don't Call Me Hero combined? The characters are real, endearing and sincerely flawed in equal measure. Eliza's style of writing pulls you into the story and you'll find yourself turning the last page before you know it - it really is that good.

Lovely story, wonderful characters that are believable and sweet. The ending could've been better written and more developed as I found it kind of just...ended abruptly without proper developing. Brilliant book. Though the Winter Jacket series is still by far my favourite!

I loved the story, the characters, everything. I have read all of Eliza's books and this one for me is up there with the 'Winter Jacket ' series. I'm looking forward to a sequel to this one too!
