Wonderful story
This was a superbly written story, by a very talented author. It was very funny and very moving, with believable characters in a realistic, believable setting. It proved the value of communication - if only Cate could have told Pia the truth a lot of heartbreak on both sides could have been avoided, but I am still happy to report a (very!) happy ending.I did feel a bit sorry for poor old Rafe at the end, and thought that Cate's grandfather might have been arrested for attempted murder (or had his shotgun certificate revoked at the very least!), but this probably wouldn't have been in keeping with the tone of the book.It was just a shame the squirrel only featured in one scene, I felt he had so much more to give, and, let's face it, he was responsible for bringing Pia and Cat together in the first place!A really great read. Well done miss Ashton!

Don't miss this one!
I did exactly the same thing as another reviewer, read until the early hours of the morning, only leaving myself a couple of hours sleep. It wasn't intentional, I'm usually more sensible but every time I turned my light off, I found curiosity got the better of me. In the end I had to finish the book so that I would be able to sleep. I did have to laugh with my pillow stuffed in my mouth, in order to avoid disturbing my partner, but it was worth it. I'm not going to describe the book, TerryB and others have already done that much more eloquently than I could but if you enjoy a good, lighthearted but well written romantic comedy, with the characters possessing depth, then buy this book. In fact buy any book by Clare Ashton, you won't be disappointed.

Lesbian chick lit, nice to find
Enjoyable book, I liked the fact it was quite 'chick lit' whilst being written around a lesbian relationship. As a girly lesbian I enjoy chick lit so a mix of the two was nice to find. I did however find it disappointing that it's the femme character in the book that is married to a man - there are gold star, out and proud, lesbian femmes out there, myself included! The book isn't fantastically written nor does it have a dramatic storyline but I found myself feeling for the characters, and looking forward to finding out what happened next. The writing definitely got better as the book went on, some lines were really funny too. One small criticism - the odd fascination on the word 'hair' in sex scenes was quite odd, and a little off putting!Overall I enjoyed this book and would purchase future books from the author.

Readable, but not as good as her other books
If you buy this thinking that it is like the other wonderful books written by this author, then I think you will be disappointed. The best way to describe it, is Clare Ashton light. The things I have enjoyed about her previous books is the depth of character development, Pennance, After Mrs Hamilton and her latest, Poppy Jenkins are all wonderful and you become so emotionally attached to the characters that you are sad when the book ends. I got nothing like this connection with this book, there is the humour you expect from her books, but at times it seemed forced, the part about the squirrel being an example of this. I laughed out loud at Poppy Jenkins, but barely smiled when reading this book.Don't get me wrong, it is quite acceptable and still better than many lesbian romance books out there, Clare is a wonderful writer, but this isn't as good as the other books I have mentioned.

Super book. I will certainly read this again.
Loved this book. I loved the chemistry between both of these women, they had real fun together and the heartbreak after the discovery I also felt. I actually flew through this book so cant remember most of the detail but I certainly remember enjoying it. I have never seen a couple speed off into the sunset so fast lol. That was a bit shocking, I wish there was just another page to go with that but its a happy ending so I should just be happy for them right?Brilliant book with plenty of funny moments, nice sex scenes and a happy ending. The rest I leave for you to discover. The start is very funny too.

Wonderful!
It's 3.30am and I have just read this book from start to finish, despite knowing that my alarm will be going off in 2 and a half hours - I just couldn't stop reading. If I ever win enough on the lottery, I'll be calling on Clare to write a screenplay so we can turn this into the best rom-com since Imagine Me and You. The characters were easily imaginable (already got a cast in mind!) and the description of the places make me feel I've been where Pia and Cate have stood. I'm a helpless romantic too and this book was a beautiful distraction to a very hectic life. Thank you. Now, I'm off to the National Lottery website to buy a ticket... And I'll set my alarm a bit later!!!

Omg
Omg I can't quite find the right words... Loved it from start to finish, couldn't go to sleep until I knew what was going to happen! Such a romantic story, made my heart flutter on many occasions and reminds me why I love my wife so much... Ps I would look like I am in drag in a dress too and wore a tux with a corset and undone dickie bow! A nice look on a woman! Thanks for a good book Clare

Desperately needs a sequel!
I loved this book. Enchanting characters that drew me in from page 1. I felt Pia's clumsiness and I felt Cate's emotional pain. I loved Pia's raw normalness (I know it's now a real word) and I loved Cate's sensuality. The only disappointment is in myself at how quickly I read the book, but thats a good thing as I couldn't put the darn thing down. This book is however screaming out for a sequel, I am screaming out for sequel, right from the moment at St Pancras will do - we need to know how it all goes in NYC. Definitely a book I will reread and I don't do that very often.
