Fantastic Reed for Marching Band & Beyond!
My son has been using the Légère Signature Alto Saxophone Reed (Strength 2.50) since November, and he absolutely loves it! As a member of his high school marching band, he needs a reed that delivers consistency, durability, and great sound quality—and this reed checks all the boxes. Unlike traditional cane reeds, this premium synthetic reed doesn’t wear out quickly or require constant adjustments. It produces a warm, rich tone while remaining incredibly responsive, even outdoors. My son also appreciates the convenience of not having to constantly break in a new reed—this one plays beautifully right out of the box! If you're looking for a high-quality, long-lasting reed that performs exceptionally well, I highly recommend the Légère Signature. It’s been a game-changer for my son’s playing experience!

Good product. Good price.
I prefer Legere reeds. They are long lasting, easy to use, sturdy and easy to play. I prefer to get them from Amazon because if I order them directly from Legere there is a shipping fee and a long wait for arrival whereas with Amazon Prime I get free shipping and the item arrives in just a few days. The cost of one reed seems high but one reed long outlasts a whole box of traditional reeds.

Thoughts from a lifelong professional saxophonist...
I am a retired music educator, playing alto and soprano sax in five bands, including a marvelous professional concert band, two big bands, worship band and a ‘60’s-rock combo. Over many years, I’ve used Java 3 and Hemke 2.5 or 3 reeds on my Selmer Mark VI alto (Meyer and Concept mouthpieces and Versa ligature). Concerned by inconsistent cane reeds, even with ReedGeek usage, and noting a trend among my concert band colleagues toward Legere Signature reeds, I tried one in strength #2.5. I may never again go back to cane reeds!! Incredibly, I’ve been playing on that same alto reed EXCLUSIVELY for the past seven months! I have noticed no changes in the reed’s sound, stability or performance at all! The tone and response is, I feel, equal to my best cane reeds and when doubling, they are instantly ready to play. Always the same, every time! I would definitely recommend that every serious sax or clarinet player at least TRY a Legere Signature reed and decide for yourself. Why insist on being a “cane reed purist” when this could be the reed you have been searching for? The only drawbacks I have found involve their steep price, poor packaging, allegedly selling used as new, and, being rather transparent, the disconcerting view of water droplets showing through the reed.

Synthetic Reeds Are Complicated to Evaluate
Everyone has different preferences for reeds, and the mouthpiece you use (tip opening/facing curve) is critical for reed selection and performance. So in the context of what I am playing (alto, Yamaha 5C mouthpiece, 2.5 strength reed), here are my thoughts. 1. The positive here is that this reed is good for practice because it is consistent and responsive. I can get started with practice without any reed issues. 2. The reed does not change during the course of practice. Unlike cane reeds, which get more water saturated over time. Even so, I follow the manufacturer's instructions and use this reed for about 1 hour before switching reeds. 3. Is this reed more responsive than other synthetic reeds? No, I have found others that are more responsive. 4. Is the tone using this reed better than cane?. No, I think a good cane reed (when you have one) has better tone. 5. Is the reed a good value? If it lasts as advertised, yes. But I have only been playing it for a month or so (every day). 6. Does the reed change at all? Yes, I think after a month of playing it is playing "softer". 7. Anything bad? Well, it is very smooth on the table side, so it tends to move easier on a plastic mouthpiece. Sometimes shifting a bit. Maybe it would not do so on a rubber mouthpiece. 8. Buy again? Well, I am trying out other synthetic reeds. I think they are useful for practice, and I will likely end up choosing one brand/type for this purpose. This one seems good overall. Not sure yet it it will be my top choice. Your results may vary.

Love love love these!
I seriously doubt I’ll ever go back to cane reeds again. Yes these are expensive, but definitely worth it. Buy a box of conventional cane reeds and some start out just worthless. Maybe you can fix them, but really, you shouldn’t have to. With these, nothing to fix. Okay immediately & don’t dry out.

Excelente opción
Es una excelente opción dentro de las cañas sintéticas. La respuesta es precisa y con buena afinación. Su consistencia es buena, cada caña se siente igual a la anterior.

Outstanding Reed!!!
I highly recommend this amazing reed!!! I didn't know what to expect when I got it and I was actually shocked at how much more stability and tone it offers with less effort. I am also a die-hard Vandoren cane reed fan but this synthetic one from Légere is a whole dimension up. Give it a try. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Altsaxophonblatt

Perfect intonation every time
Having recently ‘broken’ my previously purchased Legere Signature reed I decided to try traditional reeds again. I very quickly remembered why I changed to the Legere reed in the first place. No having to go through umpteen reeds to find a ‘good’ one, no more having to moisten the reed before use, no more having a reed that is too soft after playing for a couple of hours and no more reeds that split just as you are getting use to them. Just put the Legere reed onto the mouthpiece and you are ready to play. Perfect intonation every time. Brilliant.
