Bought as a gift for a kid. Took it to the beach and shared with other kids. Caught 2 fish 1st throw.

If you're a pro, then you probably already have an expensive net with real lead weights. However, they are really expensive so for the price point this net makes a good backup net if the shad are heavy you may be able to net some if you are good at throwing it. Its a good way to practice untangling some of the weights and that is some good experience anyways. If price were no object, Id buy something 4 times the cost but it you are on a budget I think you can make this work if the shad are plentiful where you are casting it. Compared to a pro net, I don't believe it performs on the same level but if you grew up with this net and used it often im sure you would get some good results. What have you got to lose? Buy one for all your fishing buddies and watch them practice untangling it.

Complete cheap garbage. Tangles within itself just by picking it up. Buyer beware!!

Loved the size and versatility, disliked the fact that material causes bait fish to snag within the fibers making it difficult to remove bait and mostly the led weights also snag within its material and difficult to unsnag in order to re-throw net and open evenly.Should have bought a monofilament net instead.

this is a very small net and light weight, we got it for our 8 year old grandson to use to catch bait, it should work for that

The weights can entangle into the mesh on mis-throws or uneven retrieves with the larger mesh. Recommend the smaller mesh size.

Do not buy this net. Doesn’t throw well. I’m very Experienced at throwing a cast net. The ends were not trimmed well. Even after trimming the ends, it kept getting caught on itself
