Makes for good reading

My 7yo son loves these books. He's an advanced reader. I think the content of the books would appeal to children as old as 12. My son tried to tell me he wasn't going to do his other school work if I didn't let him have another one of the books from the box after he finished the first one. :D Although I have some curriculum, I try to let my son's interests guide our homeschooling. These books make it easy. The book on electricity kicked off our week of learning about electricity - putting the snap-circuits (also a great purchase) to use.

My 11 y/o has a rather dry science curriculum, this is a great supplement. It has tons of little activities and experiments. There is also a quiz at the end of the book, nothing crazy. We learn new and interesting facts and the books do a great job of explaining some of the more complex topics.

These books are great read for my kids, they have lots of jokes and my daughters keep giggling while reading them.

I like the set, bought it for my son's birthday and the jokes and comics are a nice way to keep him engaged, my only problem with the set so far is some of the pages weren't cut properly so I had to cut them myself, other than that I am really happy with the books.

Bought these for my 8 year old (supposedly reluctant reader)son. Many boys find reading a hard fit, especially if they are given only fiction. So many boys crave good non-fiction, and this is it! Especially for kids with a smart-aleck gene! Funny, irreverent, and cute (also gross at times!0.My son will read these for hours, has memorized almost all of them, and recites them on a daily basis! When he finishes these, we're on to the Horrible Histories!

These are fantastic for kids who love facts and the gross parts of science. We'll be using them to supplement what our kids (8, 11, 13) are learning from science this year during distance learning. It's easy enough for the 13 year old to read on her own, and simple enough for the 8 year old to understand when they're read out loud.

Since the book set was allowed to be opened after Christmas, my 11-year-old son picked a few that looked more interesting from the set to read first. After reading those few several times, he then picked up the other ones in the set, probably one book every one or two days. Eventually he finished all the books in the set, with each book read multiple times. He's still reading them these days.As the school year is almost coming to an end, I'm ordering other Horrible series for him to enjoy during the summer.

Compré la colección para mi hijo de 14 años porque se los recomendaron en el instituto. Nos los estamos leyendo los dos y son muy amenos y cuentan un montón de cosas curiosas. Desde aquí mi homenaje a Luigi Lilio (según el libro no os preocupéis que el 99,9999% de los lectores no saben quién es)... si queréis descubrirlo sólo hay que empezar a leer el libro de la cruda verdad sobre el tiempo

Sono libri eccezionali, interessanti, avvicinano alla lettura in inglese dei testi scientifici "da grandi". Esiste la loro versione anche in italiano, in inglese vanno bene per i ragazzi con livello di inglese a partire da B1.Ai liceali del 1, 2 o 3 anno aiuteranno a famigliarizzare con l'inglese scientifico in una maniera divertente e non noiosa. Va benissimo per quelli che seguono il programma Cambridge.Se non c'e' il problema della lingua, vanno bene anche per i ragazzi delle medie.
