I'm so happy I saw these here at Amazon.
I'm 68 and have been wearing prescription glasses from the age of around ten years old. I've been using over the counter reading glasses for the last few years to help with reading and close up work. Each year it seemed I was increasing the strength to the point where they didn't work no matter what the strength and my overall vision wasn't good. Every year I have a full eye exam as being diabetic I want to make sure I keep my sight. This year instead of using the local vision stores and their optometrists I went to a ophthalmologist for the exam. Turns out the reason I was increasing the strength of the reading glasses and having general sight problems was due to a couple of cataracts. I was told a couple of times by the optometrist that there was an indication of the start of a cataract in my right eye but nothing to be alarmed about. The cataracts warranted immediate surgery which was done on both eyes the following week. Yes both eyes at the same time due to another ailment I have which is Parkinson's disease and because of head tremors it was decided to use general anesthesia. Because this meant an overnight stay at the hospital I asked and was given permission to get both eyes done and to get it over with. The surgery went extremely well and nobody who hasn't had the surgery will understand the great improvement in vision. Before surgery I was offered a treatment that would correct both near and far vision but Medicare will cover only single vision procedures and at the additional $4500.00 per eye I decided to fix my distance and not closeup vision. It meant the possibility of prescription reading glasses but already use to glasses so I didn't consider that a problem. At my final eye exam it was determined that over the counter reading glasses would be fine. It was suggested that a magnifying strength of + 2 for normal reading and a +2.5 for that very fine print and intricate work. This is the review of the +2.5.Amazon offers so many of the non prescription reading glasses that it's a pretty difficult process to choose just the right ones. After at least an hour or so I chose the Double Take. I liked the idea that they are pretty much half framed. This allows me to read but at the same time look over the top frame to see the computer screen as well as the TV equally well. I remember my grandmother doing this with her prescription reading glasses and thinking it kind of funny. Now I find it the perfect solution. Another nice thing I enjoy about these glasses is the spring hinged bows. This feature allows you to place the glasses at that certain placement allowing the over the frame viewing of TV and reading. The quality of the frames is pretty good, not as good as an expensive pair purchased at the opticians but very close. The lenses themselves don't seem to distort as some of the others I've had through the years which is great. It's like you don't know you are wearing glasses. Overall a great experience so far with these glasses. The price is great for one pair but fantastic for two. Now there's a pair at my desk and one in the bedroom. Now with every good things mentioned there is one negative I feel I should mention. It's a nice gesture to include a hard case for each pair and a microfiber cleaning cloth but the hard cases are extremely difficult to use. You have to place the glasses in such a particular way or risk the spring activated hinge clamping down on one or both of the bows. It's easier just to set them down in a safe place.I'm extremely happy with these glasses and have no problem with recommending these to anyone. Everything is almost perfect. The price, the materials used in production, the lack of distortion and the spring hinged bows make these the best I've ever worn. The too small hard case is the only drawback but not enough of one to decrease even a half a starThere is one thing I must add. Anyone who has or even thinks they may have cataracts should be examined. If surgery is necessary or suggested have it done. Your brain gets so use to failing eyesight and you just let it slide. I can't explain how wonderful the world looks through eyes that are free from cataracts.

Amazing glasses at twice the price.
Don't think, just buy; you won't be sorry. When I ordered these glasses, I wasn't sure what to expect. When they arrived I was amazed. They are the best deal in glasses I have purchased from Amazon. The glasses are very well made with spring hinges to minimize flexing of the frame. The arms are screwed in place like more expensive frames. The nose pads are soft and mounted with flexible hinges so they can adjust to your nose instead of your nose doing the adjusting. The arms are long and offer a secure fit when the glasses are worn close to the tip of your nose.(like I do) They come with a solid metal case and a good size cleaning cloth. At $11.99 they are a steal for one pair. The unbelievable part is you get two pair, both the same quality for that price. I know I sound like I own the company, but I have no ties to it and I wasn't given anything for this review. They're just that good.

I've tried more than 10 different Readers and for me these are definitely the best. No only are the lenses the clearest
Since having cataract surgery left me with 20/20 distance vision, but lousy close up vision, I need Readers to read, cook, work with tools, etc. I've tried more than 10 different Readers and for me these are definitely the best. No only are the lenses the clearest, but the size and shape of them allow me to look over the top, rather than through the lenses for distance, without removing the glasses. Most of the day my tasks require a constant vacillation between close up and distance viewing. The on/off, on/off, on/off of the other Readers was driving me nuts. With these Readers if I chose to, I can just move them slightly down my nose a look over them. I've only had them for a couple of weeks, so I don't know how well they'll hold up, but since the order came with two pair, if the first pair break, I still have the second one.

Great price, good fit, durable case
I looked around quite a bit for my first pair of reading glasses, I found this set of two pair with cases, for less than what I could get 1 pair for at the local pharmacy. I am very happy with the quality of these, the glasses fit comfortably, and the cases seem quite durable, and were shipped with a microfiber cleaning cloth. I have a larger than normal head, but the spring loaded Earpieces do not feel uncomfortable at all.

Excellent, inexpensive readers
These are the lightest, most adjustable reading glasses I have ever owned. And don't believe those trolls who disparaged the quality of the optics. They are excellent from rim to rim. I would also have to mention that they are made of high-quality metal rims which allow you to adjust the nose pad width and the ear-pieces, and are extremely light. This was critical for me so I could keep them from sliding down and getting uncomfortable.I have had a couple of store-bought readers, and they worked OK, but even the lightest ones were moderately heavy. This meant that wearing them for a couple of hours would leave indentations in my nose, and they were a bit uncomfortable. Also, the earpieces were only slightly adjustable, and that meant they kept sliding down my nose. So, I tried the adhesive cushions, but they looked odd and had to be replaced periodically. Not a great solution! These glasses overcome both issues very well. If there are glasses you can get from an optometrist (expensive!) that do better than these, I can't imagine how they can. And I can't believe they would be worth the expense. The only niggling negative I have is that the included cases snap shut with the force of a snapping turtle. The cases are sleek, thin, and well lined, so I couldn't see how this was worth taking off a star.Great glasses, well worth the price!

Product as described
I am happy with the glasses. The prescription (1.75) is consistent with my other glasses, and they look like they do in the photos. The glasses are not flimsy and should last me awhile. The cases are particularly-nice. I expected a poorly-made case at this price-point, but these are sturdy, protective and fit the glasses perfectly.
