Emery Cloth - Normally dyed black on a blue cotton cloth back. The grit on Emery Cloth consists of Aluminium Oxide grit with the addition of the harder Emery (also known as black sand) Mineral. Often the alternative, Aluminium Oxide, which is normally brown or red in colour, is incorrectly called emery, but doesn't have the Emery additive.
