Once you get to know the different tunes for the different levels of yolk "doneness", your eggs will turn out perfect every time. A perfect gift for the men in my family who like to cook. We all got a chuckle out of the design and tunes!

This little mobster makes doing my eggs a cinch! As I listened to each song (I was doing hard-boiled), I thought "this is way too easy, too fast" My eggs were PERFECTLY hard-boiled and no guessing needed! I kept my mafia buddy in with the eggs like the instructions suggested. Put eggs and buddy in water together... when cooled, store buddy back with the eggs. LOVE IT!

I was skeptical at first, but now use it almost daily. As soon as you figure out what to listen for it works well. It's hard to be perfect, but it is not really the fault of the device. If you cook 4 eggs at the same time, you will find a difference in the doneness of each.Update: Battery died after 5 months.

A Dutch friend gave me one of these as a gift several years ago. The theme was Dutch songs. I used it several times a week to make soft and hard boiled eggs. I wanted to give one to my daughter a few years ago but couldn't find them on the internet so I had to get her a different style which was much less fun. My Dutch egg timer eventually gave up the ghost and I was so sad, really. I missed it singing and the perfect eggs it makes. I was going to write to the company in Holland to see if I could buy a new one when lo and behold they appeared on Amazon! It may seem silly but I was so excited. I bought three, two as gifts. And I learned from the instructions (in English) that the non-replaceable battery will give out after a couple of years. No problem. I'm planning on stocking up on these. I got my grandson the Pirate and the Mafia Boss for my sister and myself. I love the variety. I will buy a bunch as gifts. They are charming unique hostess gifts.

Makes boiling eggs fun and not a chore.

These eggs really work, and help have perfectly cooked eggs every time, with some fun on the side. Definitely a plus for busy cooks

I did use this egg now 4 times and in the middle of the night i did hear a strong sound from the kitchen and finaly findoud that my egg did make anoing sound!I did try it in the morning if it did still work but unfortiantly it only give a strong high sound!And its not a Nice sound like an alarm from a smoke alarm!

This little beep egg is a lifesaver! Not only does it work every time, but The Godfather songs are recognizable and loud and spot on! I can’t boil an egg without this little gem! I’ve given them as gifts and everyone loves them! Brilliant idea!

Das Ei ist sehr einfach zu handhaben, witzig und funktioniert. Drei verschiedene Melodien für grundsätzlich drei verschiedene Härtegrade. Unterstufen gibt es anscheinend immer zwei weitere, da die Melodie eins einmal wiederholt wird. Das ist von Vorteil, wenn man unterschiedliche Ei-Größen hat. Ob die weiteren zwei Melodien auch zweimal erklingen, habe ich noch nicht erforscht. Aber die Wiederholung passt bei einem weichen Ei, das groß ist, perfekt. Beim ersten Mal des Erklingens ist es für kleinere Eier zutreffend. Eignet sich sicherlich sehr gut für ein Geschenk. Beim Kauf sollte man peinlich genau darauf achten, ob das Ei nur einen Härtegrad oder drei angeben kann. Ich bin schon darauf reingefallen, dass ich dann nur harte Eier bekommen hätte. Aber das ging beim Kauf nicht offensichtlich genug aus der Beschreibung hervor.
