I got this for the office I am setting up, but I I haven't finished yet. It is the perfect size and color. So I waited to use it until I was finished setting up. What I didn't think about at that time was using it in the bathroom. I guess it's because of the color (black). But it is so much more useful in the bathroom because that is where the most untouchable trash is located. Touch free is definitely the way to go in the bathroom. This trash can has been fabulous for keeping the gross trash hidden and any possible odors contained. It also has made the task of changing the bag and throwing it away almost fun. It was a struggle to get my (big) kid to take out the bathroom trash. Now, there is much less stress on trash night, and the trash overflow problem is gone. This trash can is a great size and a breeze to use. I think this can is great....I'm sorry I waited!

DO NOT RECOMMEND Built very cheap. Self sealing doesn’t seal properly. The LID creeks like an old door when it opens and closes.

I had the original for 4 years and loved it but it developed a smell from the cat poop bags that I couldn’t get rid of so I got this new one. It was still working great though. First thing I wasn’t happy about when I got the new version is it is rechargeable and my older one was a plug in. It seems like the top opens a lot slower. Also this new one seems to be much more cheaply made and sometimes I have to wave my hand in front several times before it opens. I have my doubts that this one is going to last as long as my other one.

Purchased mine in 2023. 3 actual fires have ignited and had to be extinguished. My model doesn not have any overload protection and if paper is at the top when changing out bags, a fire is likely.

For some reason we weren't really able to figure how this works and then the batteries died fairly quickly after charging.

I do not like trash cans that expose the refuse. It makes a clean bathroom look dirty. I have motion sensor bins and I love them. I wanted to add another for my office and stumbled upon this item. I looked at the item, at first, questioning why anyone would need a "smart" trash can. After reading through the item description and the capabilities, I decided to take the plunge. I am blown away with this item. It looks great and functions as it should. The lid opens and closes with a wave of the hand, or slight bend of the knee. When I fill the bad, it seals the bag, ready to be removed. It will even set up the next bag to fill again. Aside from taking the trash out to our trash bin, this item does it all. The price is rather high for a trash can, but if you want something to make your life a little easier, this is well worth it. You do get tethered to their bags, as they are within the ring that installs inside the trash can. They are not too expensive, but are an additional expense.
