It works, but its a bit fiddly
Because the description tell you nor the photos show you how you actually attach the belt, There is a slot in one side of the belt (See the attached picture), you wrap the belt around the person, then feed the other side of the belt though that slot, then you attach the straps to the bed.If you have anything other than a narrow single bed you will find the straps wont easily reach the other side of the bed to close the side-release buckle as intended. Even if you do have a bed small enough there is another issue which I will get to in a moment. However the straps are plenty long enough to attach them to the sides of the bed frame, not to each other as intended, but this may be the better option anyway. You see because of the design, the straps have to be loose in order to wrap the belt around the person, this will be easier to do if the person is out of the bed or is sitting up in bed and then tighten down the straps. Because the item only comes with 1 side-release buckle you could tie one of the straps to the bed frame but this will make adjustments a PITA, esp given that the straps will have to be loosened every time the person needs to get out of bed. So I would suggest picking up another side-release buckle (or another style buckle of your choice), the straps are 36mm wide, so additional buckles for it won't break the bank. Also if a side of the persons bed is against a wall you might want to consider attaching the "thicker" side of the belt to the side against the wall which will allow you to better pass the "thinner" side though the slot at the rear of the belt and then tighten that side strap to the bed. If you only have access to one side of the bed because its against a wall, this will will take some trial and error, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes easy enough.Once the person is in the belt and the belt is attached to the bed, it does prevent the person from falling out of bed by limiting their rolling but it still allows them to roll on to their side. Without other restraint or the belt being really tight, it won't prevent someone active from escaping the belt but it will prevent your avg sleepwalker from getting out of bed. With a bit of modification I can see this being a much easier to use restraint simply by cutting the straps and attaching a couple more buckles closer to the actual belt (increasing the buckle count to 4), an easy enough modification if you have access to a sewing machine. This will allow you to keep the straps attached to the bed all the time, allow to more easily put the the belt on the person and then just clip the straps to the belt (then tighten) after the person is in bed. Doing so will reduce the "security" of the belt, but if you have an escape artist on your hands without any other restraint they will find a way to wiggle out of the belt anyway.I performed the above modification and found to be much easier to put on the person, easier to tighten up and if we require more "security" we could always add some eyelets to the straps to attach something stronger then a friction fastener.Overall, it does what it advertises it does, its just a little fiddly which could be improved (which is why I dinged it a point), but if you are crafty with a sewing machine it also provides a great base to create a even better restraint.
