I have a premium brand name cordless hair straightener that I use on a daily basis and for travel. However, it’s a little bit on the larger side and I wanted something smaller to put in my work bag or purse for quick touch ups during the day, especially on humid days or when I had a big meeting or presentation at work. This popped up and it looked very similar to my name brand one as far as coloring, but it was quite compact. It actually works pretty well. I have thick but fine hair that’s just at my shoulder now. Without blow drying and straightening, my hair is wavy in a very unattractive and chaotic way, and it can be quite frizzy. I also have some gray coming in that likes to be the star of the show and stand up in all directions. So I blow dry my hair everyday and straighten the front, sides, and top. I do not straighten all of my hair because the back tends to lay down somewhat ok after blow drying. All that to say that I don’t know how well this compact straightener would work on very long hair, course thick hair, or very curly hair. But it works well for my needs. I don’t think I’d use it as a daily straightener because it has some quirks, but it works well for touch ups. The lid/cover also seems to be truly heat resistant so I can put it right back in my bag, even when warm, without any issue. It charges quickly and holds a charge for quite awhile, though again, I’ve only used it for quick touch ups. I have only used the160 degree setting because my hair is fine and it doesn’t take much heat to straighten. The quirks with it are centered around the on switch and button. Unless I hold it a certain way, my fingers have accidentally turned the switch off and changed the heat setting without even realizing it. It’s a minor issue, but a little annoying. Other than that, it’s worked great and I love the portability.

-This is a very nice cordless flat iron for on the go.-I do not have a lot of hair so it is possible to fully style my hair using this. However, if you have thick hair or you have voluminous hair, this flat iron may be a little time consuming for you, mainly because it is a tad smaller than most of your standard size flat irons.-I do however like this flat iron for the convenience of being able to carry this in my purse for a quick fix when i am out and about. I usually only have to fix my bangs and may be a little on the sides so this flat iron is perfect for that. It is quite small and compact so it is easy to carry.-I like that it heats up relatively quickly.-Depending on your hair length and volume, the battery life will vary but i am able to use this multiple times before it needs to be charged again.-Overall I think this is a good quality flat iron and you can definitely have this one for on the go even if you already have a full size flat iron.

I love the idea of these cordless hair tools for travel. It's so compact you can put it right in your purse and have it ready for those days the humidity wreaks havoc on your hair. This one heats up quickly and gets really hot, so be careful when you use it for the first time so you know which heat setting you need to use. It also comes with a cover sleeve to not only keep the iron safe, but to also keep it from accidently turning on.

I love that the outer body does not get hot so I can use it in the car and sit it down without it burning up anything. I do think it's priced a little high.

Amazon sent me the XCOOL Cordless 2 in 1 mini hair straightener and curler to try out. I was pleasantly surprised. It's not only cute and compact, but it also did a good job curling my relaxed #4 hair. The iron heats up fast and gets just as hot as my full-size flat iron so it seems like it would work just fine on natural hair as well. Charging to full battery took about 2.5 hours and it has digital display that is not the easiest to read but since there are only three settings that light up when each one is selected, this is not an issue at all. The styler could not have come at better time because I am headed to Europe in two weeks and now, I don't have to worry about voltage or conversion, et. The styler is so sleek and takes up hardly any room in my suitcase. This is a great concept that actually works. If I encounter any concerns with durability at a later date, I will update my review. I highly recommend!

When I first opened this, I had a hard time figuring out how to turn it on. I figured maybe it needed to be charged. Then I read the directions and figured out how to power it up. Imagine that lol. To turn this unit on you simply slide up on the on/off switch and then press and hold the power button. It will then turn on and default to the lowest heat setting of 160ºC (320ºF).. press the power button again to move up the heat level. I chose 200ºC (400ºF) and it only took about 10 seconds to reach the heat level. Amazingly fast.Now came the test trial on my hair. It straightened it just fine and was really easy to hold and operate. However, I will say it didn’t feel or sounds smooth while my hair was passing through it. This felt rough.. but did straighten my hair out just fine.I love that once you are finished using this and after powering it down, simply snap the cover back on and you are good to go. There is also a soft travel pouch that holds the unit and USB-C charge cord.While I think this straightener will be PERFECT for our RV when we are camping without hookups and need to conserve power, I do not think it would be good for everyday use. I feel like it may damage some types of hair. I do have a high end full size one already, so this little one suits me just fine as my travel buddy!
