Best shoe purchase I've ever made!
I was skeptical about the fit and style when I ordered because I usually have difficulties with shoes that are either too long and narrow or too short and wide. These are the perfect fit! My foot feel perfectly contoured without any discomfort, pain, or squeezing. They are lightweight, durable, and high quality. I have been wearing them everyday since purchase. My favorite is the barefoot feeling with light support. I want to buy every color!

Good shoes - wide toe box, zero-drop, can feel grounded, stylish
Fit well; my feet are basically triangles: narrow heels but wide ball of foot. They fit great! Wide toe box makes keeping a proper gait much easier. I like that I can feel the ground---the soles are nice and sturdy/grippy but not too thick---which makes it easier for me to keep my balance since I can tell when the ground is uneven. I could see some people not liking that you can feel the gravel/rocks/sticks, but I personally felt there was just enough cushion that it isn't uncomfortable. Maybe avoid if you have sensitive soles. I also like the style; this brand does a variety, which is really nice when you want the barefoot-style shoes but also want some *fashion.* The high top ones had a lower top than I was expecting; it is lower than "classic" high tops, but I still enjoy it.

Well made, attractive, comfortable shoes!
I have three pairs of sneakers in this brand that are exactly the same except the color. I have three pairs of the low cut in white, black, and tan. I have this pair of high tops. They are machine washable on hand wash. I always remove the insoles first. I love them. The wide toe boxes are awesome. I was raised wearing Birkenstocks, which I still really love and wear, but I wanted something that I could wear as everyday “play” shoes that I didn’t need to worry about damaging. Turns out that these shoes are very well made and can go into the washer. My feet are wide because I have lived in Birkenstocks. These sneakers are the perfect width for me. One day I did wear a pair of these sneakers for a very long day of walking and at days end, my feet hurt. So, I bought a set of inserts and I have used them in these sneakers twice. Made them perfect for a long day of walking. I highly recommend these shoes in the two styles that I purchased. They have several other styles that I have not tried.

No back tab
These are stylish and comfortable. The only downside to them is that there is no tab on the back to hold onto when I'm trying to put them on. As such, they are incredibly difficult to get on without having to completely loosen all the laces. It is a huge design flaw and I am so bummed about it, because I otherwise really love them. But as a busy mom, these are hard to justify wearing since I can't put them on while simultaneously holding a baby.

Finally, a shoe my feet don't mind (much)
I'd rather actually BE barefoot, but SO FAR, these are the best wide toe-box zero-drop BAREFOOT shoes I've found FOR ME. I wear shoes to protect my feet, including my soles - and not just the epidermis. I walk on rough ground with roots and rocks, and my feet have a lot of miles on them. Even on asphalt or concrete, I don't want my foot to land wrong on a pebble or piece of gravel and end up with a stone bruise. And honestly, even if I don't run, my soles begin to ache if I've been on my feet all day. So, while I do appreciate their flexibility I do NOT actually want barefoot shoes. If I did, I would wear sandals. But right now, barefoot shoes are the only ones with the OTHER features I need, features I have always wanted. I need a natural foot shape (wide toe-box) in a wide width. I need zero-drop, having worn flip flops, sandals, moccasins, or gone barefoot most of my life ... and for another reason. I also need a high instep (NOT a high arch; these are two different things), and since no manufacturer - yet - acknowledges that feet have three dimensions, not two, I'm often restricted to lace ups. So, I need a bigger size for the wider width and roomier toe box, but also to accommodate that high instep (aka high volume) foot. The shaft of boots helps keep my feet from sliding forward and scrunching my toes. I have never been able to tolerate high heels. ANY raised heel puts pressure on my toes. (I would probably prefer boots even if the length were right, because on shoes that come up high in the back - like sneakers - the part that tapers in either digs into the back of my ankle or makes a high blister on the back of my heel.) I agree with the manufacturer who says shoes only need to cradle our feet. not constrain them. So, I do wish these shoes were a little taller up and down, including the toe box. Still, I was able to squeeze one pair of insoles in to add cushioning (expensive flat ones by Perserveranx, which work much better than two layers of the thin ones that flatten out fast, the 3 pairs/$6 in the yellow cellophane). I buy insoles in the biggest size available; otherwise, I don't think they would fill up the wide toe-box. Even though I knew it wasn't possible, I told my friend I wanted to find a cobbler who could put a croslite sole on these. He laughed out loud and said, "What, are you from the 18th century?" Okay, shoe repair. After extensive wear, the tongue got a little fluffy, soI had to run the laces through the keeper loop at a higher point. Otherwise, the tongue would gradually slide down and bunch up at the bottom. Lacing them a little tighter than I had been also helped. I prefer canvas to the knit versions for aesthetic reasons (if it is not cotton, it at least appears to be, and to my eye, knit shoes look too much like polyester sweaters), because it has two ventilation holes (exactly where they are needed, which works better than a "breathable" knit), and because my buddy's claws don't snag them. Granted, the fabric is a fur magnet, and it really stands out against black, but I'm very used to dealing with that. I am quite pleased with the generous lace length. I bought Jackshibos and Nursgrams and sent them back. I thought the soles might be more cushioned because they look thicker. But one pair felt like I was standing a grid attached to a stiff rim. The heel of the other pair seemed like different - or perhaps "thickened" - material, and the transition was very noticeable. With both, it was immediately obvious. Except for a pair of Altas, whose contoured insole's arch hit me in the wrong place, among other things, I haven't tried more expensive zero-drops because their cousins in similar brands didn't seem very promising. But as for "minimalist" shoes, well, they should come at a minimalist price. I did buy a pair of Whitin running shoes and went for the men's version because another reviewer suggested the soles might be more cushioned. The smallest men's size is 8/41, comparable to a women's 9.5/41. (I have these booties in 9 and 9.5 because my feet swell sometimes, though in better brands of sandals, I wear 8.5 or sometimes 8.) The men's running shoes are a little wider, and they have a bigger footprint, but the insoles are almost exactly the same size. Also, their insoles are a tiny bit thicker at the front. The men's shoes are a little big, but for the extra cushioning, I'm willing to try them with thicker socks In the photos, I show both these and the running shoes.

My daily drivers
I love these shoes. I’ve had them for 10 months and wear them almost daily. They have minimal wear on the heal. Overall I’d say they are holding up pretty well and should last a few years. They are decently easy to keep clean (I got white) I have washed them once by hand. I was really nervous to wash them but they cleaned up really easy and it didn’t change how comfortable they are. These are my second pair of barefoot shoes. I prefer them over my other Whitin shoes. The high top fits the ankle well and doesn’t have any irritating plastic in it. The laces are good, not too long or sort. Overall it’s a really solid shoe choice. I’d buy them again.

Comfy!!
Little skeptical when I bought them, but I put them on and I LOVE them, definitely going to get me another pair. Thinking about replacing my converse with these. Very wide toe boxes excellent for wide feet.So comfy! Not a lot of padding but not super super thin either. I gave it 4 stars just because I haven't really wore them outside yet,but I did mainly get them for lifting.

I don’t ever shut up about my barefoot shoes! They are so extremely comfortable that I can’t go back to normal shoes, my feet have changed and they feel way more comfortable and natural after wearing these for a while. This shoe is nice and wide, some other shoes arnt as wide. As for the sole thickness, I do feel more things under my feet (which is somewhat the purpose of them) but I never ever feel discomfort. I walked for a month in Korea and Japan in these (brand new) and my feet never got sore. My friends who were wearing normal shoes did complain about their feet being tired and sore. A very pleasant surprise. Super cute style, don’t pass up on it! Keep in mind, it’s light canvas so it will get dirty fast but I think some oxidizing detergent should do the trick.

I was hoping these shoes work out and I actually really like them. They are light, soft, roomy, not too hot and comfortable. Nothing rubs or needs breaking in. Quality seems good, the canvas is quite thick and sturdy I think they’ll last well. I sprayed them with Nikwax to weatherproof them a bit and replaced the laces with elastic ties to make them quick on and off. I got them in all black but might consider an sei c pair in another colour for spring/summer.

I really like these shoes - they’re comfortable and fit really well. They take a bit of getting used to because they feel lighter than regular shoes, but once you adjust they’re great. My only issue is that they’re not super practical for anything beyond walking on paved surfaces, and have a few safety concerns. The grips on the bottoms are terrible on anything other than pavement, and I’ve slipped a few times on other surfaces. Today I was walking some dogs for a client and hand to step on the grass to give them space from another passing dog, and my shoes slipped and I ended up spraining my ankle and fell to the ground, which is not ideal when trying to control two large dogs. They also make a super loud squeaking noise when you walk on tile/linoleum type flooring which is annoying. I’ll definitely wear them until they fall apart, but it would take some serious redesign of the gripping on the bottom for me to even consider buying them again.

Comfortable, nice quality shoes. I love the wide toe box! This is the second set of shoes I have made by WHITIN and the first being my favourite pair to wear. These are equally as wonderful. I would recommend these to anyone, especially if they have wider feet

I’m a size 7.5 in ‘normal’ shoes and ended up ordering a size 9wide (8.5wide was sold out) it’s a touch big but size 8 was too small and also shrank almost a centimetre in length when I put them in the dryer. I’m new to barefoot shoes n recently learned this is common for barefoot shoes to shrink when applying heat to them, that includes exposing our feet to hot asphalt. My other size 8 Whitins are a smidge too small. Not because my toes touch but sometime they kinda do when walking. Anyway I’ll share a pic of the 3 compared. Sizes don’t seem too different but they’re all different Whitins. The shoe without laces is the one I’m reviewing. I just drew all over them. They’re super wide in the toe. The fabric bunches a bit on top which is why I drew on them (to hide the weird wrinkle. Either way. Comfy enough I got 2.
