The story starts with Rachel suddenly coming back after being missing for years, and her daughter Bel’s whole world gets flipped upside down. From there, the book becomes this mix of mystery, family drama, and “wait… what actually happened?” moments. The characters feel super real, especially Bel. You really feel what she’s going through—confusion, anger, hope, everything. The mystery keeps building, and every time I thought I knew the truth, the story twisted again. It’s an easy, addictive read that keeps you turning pages. The ending ties everything together really well and actually feels satisfying (which not all mysteries do!).
