If you want a bread slicing guide that works with an electric knife or bread knife and not spend a lot of money, here it is. It does one thing.....cut 1/2" slices of bread perfectly every time! By resting the cutting knife on the top of the slicing guide (keep it there) and moving it back thru the bread a 1/2 slice of bread will be cut every time. The more expensive guides I offer work with a knife slot that helps hold the knife onto the guides surface as you slice the bread. Do you need the slot to be successful? Yes and no.....If you concentrate holding the knife to the guides surface as you slice all will be fine. If you cant do that, than buy the guide with the knife slots. With a little practice you can do it every time. By reducing the material required to build this guide, eliminating any adjustments and eliminating the machining of the bread knife slots I can offer this guide at a very attractive price. The construction quality and the slicing ability of the guide have not been jeopardized in any way. This is a quality product that will last a life time if taken care of properly. Never soak in water. Simply wipe the guides surfaces with a damp cloth when it needs cleaning. All guides ship with an anti slip mat as shown in the photographs. This stops the guide from moving as you cut the bread. Designed to cut loaves as wide as 5 1/2". The guide itself is 12" long, 7" wide, 2 1/2" tall and weighs 1 lb. 8 oz.. This makes for easy storage. Use caution while slicing with a knife to avoid injury. Knife not included with guide.
