I have arthritis in my thumb. This just eases the pain in the evening when I sit down in front of the telly and wear it overnight for a pain-free sleep. I didn't find it good for driving as I couldn't grip the gearstick well. Otherwise I'm very pleased with it. There is a metal shaft inside it which can be bent to find the most comfortable position. Took me a few days of manipulating but worth persevering to get the right fit. I will buy another when this gets grubby. I bought the 18-22cm size, I'm an average bloke with normal size hands and it fitted well with room for adjustment for fatter or thinner wrists. The photo of the product on Amazon is an accurate representation and could even be my hand! Hope this helps someone else as I pondered for a while before committing to it.

Omg - straight out of box onto my hand and the pain is gone! I suffer from very painful arthritis in both my thumb joints, with my left hand worse. This is the 3rd brace I’ve ordered in the last few weeks and absolute best! Very comfortable, great fit, and truly holds my thumb joint in place. It’s really hard to always remember NOT to use your thumb when possible - which for me leads to painful flare ups. I originally ordered a cheaper support with very good ratings. Still had pain, so thought I’d try this one at twice the price. Worth every penny. I’d recommend anyone to try this FIRST. There’s obviously a reason this is the NHS choice.

Not suitable for de Quervains synovitis which requires not just immobilisation of the thumb, but also much of the wrist at the base of the thumb. The cuff is very shallow and gives little support. It is just a thumb immobiliser and even that would be uncomfortable with so little to secure firmly beneath. I am returning it immediately. I want 2 splints for rotation but will purchase another of the comfortable and robust Neo G equivalent which, although listed as a thumb brace, has excellent design and support for the wrist also. Make sure you purchase the Easy-Fit one which has a rigid panel. Cheaper from Amazon than Boots!

A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my left hand, where the thumb meets the wrist. The pain can be excruciating. This splint immobilises the joint, eases the pain and offers strength and support. It took a few hours to find the right pressure (by adjusting the strap) so that it did the job without pressing too severely on the joint, but since then it has definitely helped. Strong Velcro, very easy to put on and take off. I don’t wear it all the time as I find it is difficult to prepare food whilst wearing it, for instance, as well as any tasks that require close dexterity, but can definitely wear it for household chores and also whilst using my keyboard which is a real plus.This splint also looks very stylish! I like to think that people believe I have some sort of active sports injury rather than this rather old lady affliction!

Bought this on the recommendation of my physio who is treating me for a thumb tendonitis. It gives really good support and immobilises the thumb very well. It is very comfortable to wear and doesn't cause sweating like a neoprene one would. It allows the top joint of the thumb to still bend which allows a range of tasks to be carried out without taking the support off.

I received this item a day earlier as expected. I had a temporary pharmacy bought splint which was extremely uncomfortable to wear. The metal run through at the front of my thumb leaving it bruised and in more pain. As soon as I received this splint I put it on and the pain started to soon decrease. It is lightly padded and fits very snug. Most importantly it has two metal pieces in it running on both sides of the thumb making it a perfect wear. You can tell it is a carefully designed product and worth every penny. I am very glad I bought it because it gave my thumb the support and rest it needed. The colours make it obvious for others that I have something going on with my hand, based on the looks I received. However, it does not bother me and it has a sporty feeling to it which is pretty cool. I would highly recommend this. Make sure to by the correct size and there will be no problem wearing it. I bought the small size.

Bought this for my Husband after reading the reviews. He has been experiencing excruciating pain in his hand in the areas exactly where the picture shows, from the Thumb down on to the ball on his hand and up to his wrist on the inside, and wears this now just to give a bit of relief from the pain. He says he dose not want to wear it all the time as he dos not want to be come reliant on the support, as long as it gives a little bit of relief now and again! I think we decided on this product as well because it was Medically Approved. He says it is comfortable, he has quite large hands and it is a perfect fit for him, gives the right support where needed, and it has helped immensely for the right purpose, so over all very pleased with this product.

I've tried several splints for my arthritic thumb but this one is the first to give all round stability and pain relief. I've been told I need a new joint but can't due to work commitments. This splint has been a life saver. I now need to by annother for best as this one is getting dirty at work. I also have hands like shovels and found the large size perfect with plenty of adjustment. It's now 6 months on and I've had to order annother one as the velcro no longer holds, but I ware it every day so not to bad.
