Brilliant.... Great flavour, woody, nutty, even slightly garlic tasting.. First time I have attempted a grow. It was super easy, just spray twice a day. I did not buy this kit to save money on buying mushrooms, if you want cheap, go buy cheap tastless mass produced supermarket crap.. if you want the pleasure of growing your own fungi, then this is for you.. great product..

Only got one crop from the product. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. VERY expensive for a very poor return. Would not recommend this product. Buy what you want in supermarket. Easier and cheaper

Lots of fun to watch how fast they grow. Harvested many mushrooms and have tried them in a couple of different ways, very tasty. Keep them misted a couple of times per day as the instructions say and you'll be munching them in no time. The bag was slightly torn on arrival and there appeared to be mushroom bases that had been previously cut, however this didn't seem to cause problems with the kit. I wanted to post pictures for the review, but there is no upload button to be seen.

I’ve not tried one of these before. It is easy to grow, all you do is ask sure that you spray it with water as directed. When it was a time to take the first harvest, the mushrooms tasted fantastic. However, the second harvest did not happen (although the instructions do warn that this may happen). For only one harvest, this is very expensive for the amount of mushrooms you get from it. The advent i that you watch the process of mushrooms growing & they are as fresh as you can ever get when you harvest them. But the amount I harvested don’t weren’t the cost of the kit, for me.

I liked the idea of this kit. Something to entertain the grandchildren with as they see the mushrooms grow. I never expected anything like the harvesting of these wee fellows. I'm on my third crop and there are still masses growing. I've got so many that I've been giving some of them to our neighbour. The mushrooms are not the prettiest ones but that's what makes shitake mushrooms so unique. They look mouldy and dark brown but taste fantastic. Once harvested, you can keep them in the fridge until you use them. For the novelty factor, it's worth the sixteen pounds I paid. The freshest shitake you can get. I just can't get over how quickly and large these mushrooms grow. From something about the size of a football. Just keep spraying them with fresh water and leave them to grow.
