Even

Nigel Barley is a Social Anthropologist as well as an author which may have helped him write "Even", given it's devilish, hilarious pin-point accuracy re.the thinking and foibles of humans. He pushes this right up to the line and teeters well over it- hilarious. Bonkers stuff that has deprived me of night-time sleep because it is such a page-turner. "Even" in a sense, is a Farce, but with layers of sophistication. I loved it.

This is a very funny book - why on earth is it out of print?

This is my first encounter with this author but this book is a delight. I enjoyed it enormously and I recommend it very highly. I shall now acquire all his other books. Beautifully written and plotted.

Loved this book, full of twists and unsuspected turns. A real page turner. I shall definitely be reading more from this author. Buy it you won't regret it!

Sometimes people know there is something wrong without being able to articulate what it is. This hero figure that out along the way. In a world that is quite chaotic, it is comforting to read about someone else navigating that journey. Plus you get to laugh a lot. Nigel Barley is brilliant and a master of showing not telling.
