The Voice: The Ultimate Collection

I love Pandora. I've discovered several musicians by listening to my artist channels. Russell Watson is one of the latest. After hearing a couple of his songs, I went ahead and bought this collection since it looked like a good sampling for the money. And this was one of the most exciting artist discoveries I've had. Watson has a phenomenal voice which, along with exceptional orchestration, is brought out beautifully in classics such as Nella Fantasia and The Prayer. But I think what impressed me more was the incredible styles he is capable of covering with his voice. We go from the classics such as the aforementioned tracks, to the operatic style of Funiceli, Funicela and Nessun Dorma and back to popular songs like You Raise Me Up and Nothing Sacred Anymore. Aside from the painful Barcelona rendition, every other track on this album is good and thoroughly worth adding to any collection.

I first heard one of Watson's songs on another album which is a collection of many voice/instrumental artists. Wow! I couldn't believe his sound, and played and re-played the song again and again. Finally went to Amazon.com to take a listen to his other vocal songs, and I was hooked. The album is great! He sounds like he was born and raised in Italy ... right next door to Andrea Bocelli.This makes great music for anytime -- in your office, while driving, while entertaining at home. Simply spectacular. People will ask who he is, and will go and get the album themselves, too.

We very much enjoyed listening to this collection of songs. The performance of Russell is amazing. And the voices from the other performers complemented the amazing good voice of Russell. All in all gave it us some well known classis songs and some more unknown, but interesting songs. There were tears with the song "You raise me up" and nostalgia with the songs "Volare" and "O Sole Mio"! In the future we intend to buy more of Russell as a present for ourselves. Something to look forward to for next year's birthday perhaps.

I didn't realize it was a used cd. The cd was open. However, it is a great cd and I have enjoyed it. Delivery is always wonderful with Amazon.

This truly is an "Ultimate Collection". This is a great collection of wonderful music. My wife has never been an opera fan, but she loves Russell Watson's treatment of these great arias. His voice can be powerful in one piece, and soft and tender in another. As a singer, I appreciate his phrasing, intonation, and presentation. He is a truly gifted artist, a blessing to the world, one that needs to be heard by people all over this world. If you've never bought a Russell Watson cd, this is the one to get. It's the best!

Russell Watson is truely gifted. I have prayed his gift to stay intact and this Ultimate Collection is proof of an answer for me! It has some of the classics that you know are difficult to undertake and pulls off perfection. This tenor has a fan for life.

Prior to purchase, I previewed the samples and was convinced that the songs in this collection are truly endearing. I enjoy listening to it especially while I'm driving as it provides a soothing and peaceful feeling while trying to patiently maneuver through heavy traffic. At home, it provides me an equally wholesome experience. Russel Watson's voice and rendition of the songs make his style uniquely pleasant.

I used to hate anything even close to opera. Russell Watson has completely changed my attitude toward this form of music. "Nella Fantasia" is magical. No one has sung "You Raise Me Up" better. He even sings "Volare" with better Italian pronunciation than Dean Martin. The album is pure joy.
