A Good Introduction to Ubuntu
If you're new to Linux or Ubuntu, this is a pretty good start. it covers everything a new user of Ubuntu should know. It's written in understandable English and it's CURRENT! So many computer reference books look good until you notice they are five to ten years out of date. Ubuntu is either the first or second most popular Linux distribution, (Depends on who you ask.) I've been using Linux for several years and I found some things in this book I was unaware of.Imagine that.BTW, The Kindle version is a real bargain.

Just as bloated and messy as 14.04 LTS is
Could be better written and organized. They throw a lot at you and you have to sort out what you need and can use. It's kinda like Ubuntu 14.04 - bloated and messy. This book helped me realize that Ubuntu is working more on back end and kinda ignoring user interface. Guess if you're only using command line, 14.04 is fine, but if you need a more stable gui that is easy to use, check out Mint (which does use ubuntu underneath).

starter ubuntu 14 install book
seems to cover most beginner issue and set up and install..do not update to 16.04 as it has a bad bug in software-server that they have not fixed yet june 2016. this book does not cover every window function and any options. it is a good starter book.
