BETTER FOR A CLASSROOM THAN AN INDIVIDUAL
I ordered all 12 kits which this company currently makes.SUMMARY: Inferior materials. Strong odor. Three one and done activities. Better for a classroom than an individual. Each kit contains the exterior box, an interior tray, a cup of sorts, and 3 activities which should take a child only a minute or two to complete each. These activities vary in topic and complexity, hence the stages of these kits.I popped the lid off the first kit, and my immediate impression was that the plastic is too thin and the closing mechanism too flimsy; this lid will not last long. My second impression involved being overwhelmed by the carcinogenic shower curtain odor of the entire kit. Every single thing in the box has this very strong scent, although the tray and cup are far worse than the games. To play a game, you first fish one of the three little cases out of the box, then replace the tray and cup. You open the case, which took me effort. I was unable to open it using the very obvious latch, but instead opened it easily from the opposite edge. Then you lay down the open case and remove the top layer of the pieces within and dump them into the cup. Your mission then becomes to replace those top pieces by matching them with the layer remaining in the case. That’s all there is to it. While I’m sure some kids will take longer than others, all 3 of the activities can probably be completed by most kids within 5 minutes. And once you’ve done them, you’ve done them. There’s not a lot of replay potential here.I can not imagine this kit is worth the price of acquisition, particular if you are stuck on having the entire set, as I was. The only thing that may make it worthwhile for us is that we will be using it in a classroom setting with a bunch of ASD kiddos for as long as the product remains intact – after we air it out thoroughly.I have read every extant review on every product page for all 12 of these kits. The glowing reviews which talk about kids being entertained for hours and returning daily to these kits strike me as fantasy. This is a one and done activity. And at this price point, I would expect more. Not to mention the inferior materials.3.5 stars but rounding up because we expect to get good use out of these kits in a dedicated ASD classroom.

Requires letter recognition
It is a versatile learning activity that requires to children to match pictures to words. For example, a tile might have a pcture of a guitar, and the child needs to find the word guitar on the base plate and then place the tile in that location.Sometimes the word is on the tile and the picture on the base, and at other times it is reversed. The box indicates that it is good activity for a 3 yr old, but we feel that a little older child may have more success depending on their letter recognition ability.
