Plenty of Storage in a Simple, Portable Package
Plenty of Storage in a Simple, Portable PackageI’ve been using the Seagate Portable 4TB drive for a while now, and it has quickly become one of my most reliable tools for storage. What struck me first was how little effort it takes to get started. Out of the box, it was literally plug-and-play—no drivers, no setup hassles. Just connect it to my laptop and it was instantly recognized. The 4TB capacity is perfect for what I need—backups of my work files, a growing photo/video library, and a good chunk of media for travel. It’s a compact little drive that fits easily in a bag or even a jacket pocket, and because it doesn’t need external power, I can carry it around and use it anywhere without worrying about an outlet.Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are solid for an HDD. I wouldn’t use it for constant video editing or heavy real-time tasks, but for moving large folders, streaming media, or doing weekly backups, it’s been smooth and dependable. It runs quietly and doesn’t heat up noticeably, even during long transfers. One thing to keep in mind: like all mechanical hard drives, it’s not built for drops or rough handling. I keep mine in a padded pouch when traveling just to be safe.Bottom line: If you want a straightforward, reliable, and high-capacity external hard drive at a fair price, this 4TB Seagate is hard to beat. It’s simple, portable, and does its job exactly as promised.

Quality, Great Price, Great backup
Amazing how light these Hard Drives are now. Seems to work great. The Windows registration software on the drive works nicely, and takes you to the product support page where Seagate has good software to download for doing an image backup of your system or for checking the drive. Simple, one cable, no power cord needed, works great. Not a speed champion, but quite fine for storage and backup.

great value for price
Got the 28tb version , works as expected for an external HDD, handling large transfers with ease, and breezing through smaller file transfers without a hitch. The enclosure is sleek and compact, feels like is of good qualitySetup was quick and easy, everything came in the boxThe drive can get a bit noisy when it starts up but that's not much of a problemIts a really great value for the price

Perfect storage solution for all your files, photos, etc.
So much storage for such a small device! I love the space it saves. I can just put it in the case with my computer with no problem. Just slightly larger than a deck of cards. No set up or process to use - just plug it in and you are set.

Good big drive, good price, lasting over a year now
It was an excellent price, that's why I broke down and bought one, but I think it may be so big it bogs down my computer, folders sometimes stall opening or saving files. Also risky keeping files on such a big drive unless you have it backed up with another drive: if it bricks completely you'll lose 8TB of files. But still working well over a year later and does what I need it to, I have 2 mirrored, as with all my drives, I certainly suggest everyone do that with any files they care about. I also install all programs on the drive instead of on my C drive and had 2 computers fail over last few years but just plug into the drive and most programs work immediately if you keep the Documents folder on the drive.

Phenomenal drive for media storage
I purchased this expansion drive almost 2 years ago now (11/2023), and have been using it daily ever since that time. It's been great for reliability, quality, and is way more space than I could ever need. I backup a lot of my purchased courses that are in both video and audio format, and this drive has been very good for that purpose. I do not use it for backup purposes, so I can't speak to it in that regard. For saving media, it's phenomenal. One thing that slightly concerned me when I first got it was that it was noisier than my 4 TB model was; I thought at first it was a problem with the drive. However, the noise has been consistent for the whole time I've used it, and it has never been a problem at all. The noise I'm referring to sounds like the drive is searching or scanning for something - only really occurs when I write large amounts of data to it or when it first mounts or starts up.

Fast for HDD, great price/TB, compact & portable, durable
Very pleased with this external hard drive. The USB 3.0 interface is nice a quick, though the drive itself is limited in data transfer speed since it is not an SSD (they are typically 5x faster or more). Not a big deal though since the price/TB is so much better for this HDD. My first task was to transfer 1.2GB from an SSD and it took about 3 hours to write (at about 120MB/sec). I'm a big fan of Seagate drives, been using them for years, and I'm confident the lifespan will be excellent. The drive is totally silent and super compact, very portable. Great value at this price, definitely recommend!
