Lovely retro conversation starter
This record player is just what I was looking for. It is compact and sturdy, unobtrusive yet looks good. I have played 33s and 45s on it but haven't used the USB connection or the memory card slot so I can't comment on those features. It is good to hear my old vinyl records retro style without having loads of cables and speakers cluttering the room.I am very happy with this purchase.

Vynal nostalgia
Arrived quickly. Good finish. Good sound, considering its playing 40 year old vynal records. Controls are a bit fiddley. Overall really good value for money. Looks the part. (From the 60 s and. 70 s).

Not worked since purchased
Bought for a Xmas present after seeing reviews. Did not think that there would be any problems after others had given a review, would have thought the company would have sorted out the problem. After seeing reviews. The company have sent instructions on what they thought was the problem. Now waiting for courier to pick item up, this again is a cost to myself, then will have to wait for replacement. Taken longer to send back because of Xmas hols. Hopefully the replacement will arrive soon, then will review the rate I gave this product.

Looks great but sound?
This Steepletone record player really looks the business. Of all the ones that are currently on the market this is the closest to what record players used to look like in the 60's. For nostalgia in looks this really does do it as a talking point in your living room. However I do question the quality of sound. To me the sound is very 'boxy' and lacks the richness of the good record players of years gone by. The price on even Amazon seems to vary from £100 to £180. For that price I would have expected a lot better sound than what is produced here.If you are interested there are extra bits that come with it (but no centre spindle to allow stacking of several records - probably a good idea because that did cause damage to records!). There is an adaptor for singles that have had their centres punched out for juke boxes. There is a radio (which sounds good on FM). You can play mp3's from a memory stick or sd card. Though why anyone would want to do this I have no idea! Most people will have other better means of playing their mp3's.In conclusion I give it 5 stars for looks but only 3 stars for sound. Don't get me wrong I don't think the sound is bad I just think for the money it should be a lot better!Incidentally the one I received had to go back because it played albums ok but there was a fault when playing singles. Firstly the sound was a bit ropey (like singing through water). I suspect the speed wasn't exactly right. Secondly the arm often lifted before the ending of the record.

Steepletone Music Centre - - review
I have had one or two problems with this music centre, but the Steepletone staff were most helpful and even sent me an e-mail with illustrations to help. My biggest continuing difficulty is seeing the controls which are on the side and not clearly labelled. As I have low vision this has proved to be a real nightmare. I cannot understand why present manufacturers put controls in difficult to see places and do not highlight them either. Not everyone has 100% vision. The sound produced is reasonably good.
