The book is packaged by a soft bag. And looked like this when I opend it. I'm urgently need this book, luckly the inner pages are fine. But I could only give you 1 star.

Versatile in application to industries outside the design and construction industry.
I'll have to admit straight away that I'm only four chapters into this book but am impressed. I don't doubt it hasn't already started to change the course of my understanding, and possibly my career, which started a little over two years ago. I now work as a proposal coordinator for a conglomerate of construction companies. I normally do just proposals, but I've slowly taken on more "marketing" type activities. At any time I feel like I don't know where to start, I pick up this book. Serious thought and real-world experience has gone into it - now three versions in. While it covers high-level concepts, the authors go to great lengths to explain every-day practical methods. The concepts are based on the identity and integrity of the company, rather than just "spinning" and "sales" to get clients and revenues. I am honestly surprised that there aren't any reviews on this book. I can see how SMPS members would use it to get a jump on marketing credentials but if someone with just a little marketing experience (like me) sits down and digests a chapter or concept one at a time this book can make all the difference.

Building a marketing/business development department? This is where you start.
This book has TONS of great information. If you are building a marketing/business development department, or trying to increase the effectiveness of your current efforts, this book is a great reference for you. It covers market research, planning, business development, proposal and qualifications, promotional activity, and business performance. Definitely a lot of reading, but well worth it.
