Alcey Aluminum Bus-Powered Type-C 3-Port Hub with Multi-in-1 3-slots Card Reader Combo for iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, MacBook, Mac Mini, PCs and Laptops

 To get started on this quick review of the Alcey 3 port USB 3 hub and card reader combo, lets start with a quick unboxing. Inside the cardboard box, you get the hub itself and a quick start guide. This leaflet covers card compatibility, power usage guidelines, and goes over the fact it's designed to look like a apple styled product to somewhat blend in with apple computers, and laptops.As for an overview of the device, it's made of metal with a metallic finish, with the bottom of the device been rubber to grip surfaces. Overall is a good design, feels strong and does stay put on the surface when plugging devices in. The product doesn’t appear to have any noticeable branding.As for ports, this hub features 3 USB 3.0 ports, a single SD Card slot, a Micro-SD Card slot, and a support for a Compact Flash card in the bottom slot. I have been able to test all the ports apart from the Compactflash card slot and can report they work very well, with USB 3.0 speeds been up to spec on all the ports. Do note that USB flash drives do install what would be observed as upside down.As for connecting this device to your machine, there is a single USB 3.0 cable attached, this measures in at around 21 Inch or 53 centimeters. Overall to conclude, this is a great device and believe the price is very fair at £15, therefore would recommend it based on my experience with the product.

 Amazing USB Hub with a very sleek design!Pros:1) It has a very sleek design which I am a huge fan of. I got the black colour and it matches my monitors perfectly!2) All USB ports work as they should. The Pendrives connected all run at their maximum speeds (144 MB/s read, 74 MB/s write)3) The cable is not very long but this can be useful if connected to laptops. (If connected to PC's under your desk, you will need an extension cable)4) The cable is of pretty high quality. I bent it a few times to see if it breaks but no damage was done (as you can see in the video)5) The rubber pad on the bottom is pretty good. The surface I use is a glass surface and it holds it in place pretty well. If you have some kind of cable dragging on it though, it will move around (also in the video)6) The all metal body is fantastic! Very solid design and impressed at this price point.7) The temperature of the USB Hub is around 26°C - 27°C which is not too hot to touch and will not burn you (if you experienced any problems with temperature on USB Hubs, this is safe and will not burn you)Cons:1) The only "problem" is that the SD Card slots don't work simultaneously and only 1 card at a time can be read. I did not have any problems (except the SD Cards) thus giving it the 5 stars. As mentioned, the SD Card readers are the only "problem" and I will still not deduct the rating as it is something that other USB Hubs also do and this is not unbearable and you can still work very well with switching the SD Cards. (If that is needed)

I like astrophotography (some general stuff too).. I wanted a way to transfer my images to my MAC and I don't know if my interest is good enough for a built in wifi camera, yet.I went for this Alcey USB 3 hub, so as well as card slots I have USB 3 for my iMac.The order was placed through Amazon, and it was delivered, safely and securely, to my home address.This item arrived well packed in a nice and strong card card box. The device is stylish,and has an Apple style about it.There is a nice substantial quality feel to the build of the hub. The cable is made of a quality cable and there is a nice rubber bottom on the product, this mean it won't slide all over the place.It comes with a user guide which covers card compatibility, power usage guidelines and a few more details. When it comes to use it, it is very simple and intuitive. The USB 3.0 transfer rate is extremely satisfactory.,once I open the file on a card it transfers almost momentarily.It takes a fraction of a second, it is brilliant.! All of the ports worked perfectly and for all of these reasons, I can truly say, this is an amazing hub from Alcey I think it is great value for money, andI highly recommend it.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. This items works exactly as it should. If I had one grip, it would be that I can't imagine anyone uses CF cards any more, but then, if you're that person that has a card in a long forgotten camera, this would be worth it's weight in gold. Aside of that - as I say, works exactly as described and I could not be more pleased with it.

Arrived on time, works brilliantly on both windows and Mac operating systems. Have had it for several months now and have had no problems at all. It also looks nice and blends in well with my other gadgets on the desk.

An excellent device, everything works on day 1. However, I did have a problem with the CF card at first. The SD is inserted the normal way, but the CF has to be upside down to work, but it did work and at USB 3.0 speeds (limited to the speed of the card, in this case, 95mbs) I do think it could do with some added weight in the bottom, just to add that extra reduction of movement, on top of the silicon base pad.

Upon my very second use a pin on the compact flash slot bent.. rendering the device useless for my needs.. I was actually careful putting in the compact flash card. All other slots work fine. Shame really as I really liked the look of device with my iMac..

Ate my Micro SD card, had to take it apart to get it out, I inseed the card in the slot with out the case on and it didn't work. threw it away.

All in one card reader for all sizes of memory card and USB. Great value and very stylish.

Worked for a couple of months then just stopped - won’t read any memory cards or connect To my laptop, rubbish!

Broke, prevents iMac from booting up. Its just a shoddy product. Amazon, I want a refund? Where are the 1 year warranty options??!

An absolute bag of fecease! Tried two now and neither have had a working CF card port! If you want a CF card port USB hub AVOID AVOID AVOID!
