Works well. I would strongly suggest using a camera shutter wire to prevent vibrations from touching the phone to take a photo. Would not work well with optical instruments that have a focusing eyepiece. This will fit a telescope eyepiece as well.

Good design idea, but does not hold well enough to smaller binoculars and spotting scopes (or rifle scopes) to provide dependable good quality photos/video as the rubber gasket material used for wear protection is too soft and allows he phone to move around and also allows the adapter to move around on whatever optic it is mounted on. If optics are stationary and not moved, the mount will work pretty well as long as you use the remote push button actuator these folks offer for the newer iPhone. If you use the photo button on the phone, it has to be done very carefully to keep the phone/adapter from moving around during the shot.

I Installed this product on a standard binocular and worked with two types of smartphones, iPhone 6s and a smaller Sony. Mounting is not so comfortable, because you need to adjust phone position while holding the screw open and then tighten the screw without changing the alignment. Also, the distance of the camera from the eyepiece limits the field of view to about a third of the camera sensor. If the smartphone had been positioned a little farther out, the field of view would increase. To sum up, the product is very underwhelming and overpriced for just two pieces of plastic.

UPDATE: June 2020.......While I still 'appreciate' this item (for SOME optical-viewing items).... I sadly find that I need to now find an ALTERNATE brand for use on my newer High-End Binos & my Barska Colorado 30-90-90 Spotting Scope.While the Barska is on the cheaper side.... this adaptor does NOT WORK on it (the rubber eyepiece just sloughs this off (BOTH my phone&this item ----JUST literally FALLS OFF constantly) :((((I too will be purchasing/updating to the Celestron NexYZ 3-Axis Universal Smartphone Adapter.... in order to hopefully manage FINALLY KEEPING both the adapter&my phone ON the Barska's Eyepiece.I just felt the need to share my sorrows. Yep --more $$ now needing to be spent :(I am now deducting 1 star from my orig 5 star review ONLY DUE to having to: 1) having to purchase a 2nd 'something to fit my needs', AND 2) because Gosky says it fits Spotting Scopes (which it DOES NOT (depending on your spotting scope apparently)).So yes, don't believe everything that you read... if you are concerned about your spotting scope 'fit'..... compare your spotting scope to mine listed abv.:(((((1ST REVIEW:We've all purchased items like this....but you, as I, were probably either fairly or very unhappy with their performance.This puppy however actually works!!!!!,It actually stays on the binos eyepiece, and is easy-peasy when it comes to adjustments!!!Just finally rec'd my pair of Orion 20x80 GV ED Astronomical Binos (upgraded from the basic model).....and ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY THIS THING WORKS with them!!!My phone can be upside down, sideways, etc ------- and the grip is fabulous.I truly prefer this 'twist tightener' to basic other attachments for a phone-to-eyepiece experience :)Try it, you just might like it..... I use it for my spotting scope for hunting. It is easy to use, and easy to stow away without taking much room in my pack.

This wouldn’t hold the phone stable on the scope.It’s cheaply made of plastic, a metal design would probably work better.

Bought this for my daughter for her spotting scope. She is a junior rifle shooter. She loves it & can keep in position while checking her target now. I just ordered 4 more as the rest of her team declared they each needed. Small learning curve but great simple product.

This adapter works great, exactly how I hoped it would.It attaches very securely to my Galaxy S9 smartphone & also to my set of mini-binoculars.I was pleased to also see there is a tripod mount hole on the side of the adapter, which is actually very helpful to get rid of camera shake from the recorded photos & videos.

The Gosky adapter works better than expected! It is easy to fit and align with the phone camera.The quick release for the binocular eyepiece is great to use and holds on really firmly.A quick twist of the quick release and the phone camera can be used as normal without removing the adapter.Great value for money and the shipping from Amazon was quick and painless.
