Soft & rubbery jam plug
Reading through reviews, MOST low reviews are from those who select the wrong size (5/16" or 5/8"). That is the difference between it working & not working!! 5/16" for bolt-ons seem harder to come by.With that said, the jam plug market is pretty limited and fomacs are one of the most common. Because of the softness of the material, I had to ~very carefully~ screw it into my plate for fear of snapping the stem, to the point where I questioned if this was normal. However, I will rarely need toe stops ever again, so I don't expect much finangling after installing. The plug grinds down very easily from skating on concrete though.I do prefer these over the metal stems because they won't rust. They won't last forever and if the stem snaps, the material can be dug out. These do the job of giving range & protecting your plate, but don't expect to use them to slide or pivot because you'd need a harder material. I will most likely experiment with other options after this one, but they're a great starting point!

Size
For some reason, these didn't fit my skates. I have a pair of Reidell skates with non-adjustable toe stops, I read that the 5/16 plugs should fit but they don't. These plugs are slightly smaller; they don't grip the inner threads when you try to screw them in, so they just wind up falling out. I'm sure the product would be great if they fit and it could just be my skates using something that isn't standard. Who knows.

Tight fit for impala skates
They're perfect for what I want to do but they don't seem to screw in all the way. Screwed them in as much as possible and praying they won't get stuck when I need to change them out
