Nice hitch shackle

2021 Ford Ranger XLT, factory tow pkg. It's a nice, heavy little unit. The lock has a cap to keep the crud out. Nicely finished and seems to be a good value for the money. It doesn't stick out far enough to break your shin or kneecaps on, that's a bonus in my book. It was a little sloppy in the receiver, but that's not uncommon. To keep it from rattling I cut a piece of scrap rubber tool drawer liner and wrapped it lengthwise around the back end. That gave it a nice, snug fit and no potential rattles in the foreseeable future. I hope I never need it, but it's there, in case I do.

Perfect! The lock. The look. The additional parts (washers and 4 keys) could not be happier. Previously returned more expensive expected superior products.

Love it. Heavy and beefy. Very solid. And it looks great attached to my truck. The size is perfect and the locking system is great and provides 4 keys with it. Awesome buy.

Item is great....this particular Amazon driver SUCKS! We clearly have a covered, well lit patio at our homes entrance...this driver left the package propped up to our mailbox in the pouring rain

The product description needs to explain how the d-ring shackle bolt is locked in place with the anti-tamper locking bolt. There is no description of this so I thought that torx looking piece was part of the d-ring itself. I had no clue it was bolted into the main bolt and I would need a special torx bit to remove it first. Because I didn't know, I had a hard time getting the main large bolt out of the d-ring shackle and used a crescent wrench thinking it was just cranked in there tight from the factory. As a result, I stripped the smaller bolt right out of the larger bolt. Now there is no anti-tamper function. I didn't and still don't see anywhere in the product description that explains that anti-tamper function otherwise I would have purchased the special torx bit as well ahead of time. 1 star for the poor instruction that led to me damaging the product. EDIT: I just realized it shows a "L-shaped hexagon wrench" in one of the product pictures; however, there was none in my package which was clearly a re-taped opened package so no wonder why I didn't realize that because I 100% would have tried the tool had it been in the package. Be warned.
