This cable made me say, Wow! as it has given me a MagSafe adapter for my new MacBook which doesn't have one anymore. This is perfect for inserting the USB-C adapter in your computer and leaving it. I took it out once to move it to a different port. It was slightly difficult to remove as it is small and difficult to grab. But this is a great feature as I plan to leave it in and it is hardly noticeable sticking out of the laptop. The adapter works fine with my case too. The cable itself is very flexible and has the right amount of magnetic strength. It has not disconnected accidentally.Note: This cable is for power only which is why the connector is small. Other cables allow data connectivity, I saw their connectors were big and awkward. My last laptop only had a MagSafe adapter for its power cable and I was happy with that. This cord is very convenient!It came with a semi hard case to enclose the cord. Not a feature I am using, But maybe I will repurpose it for something else.

EDIT: Literally 5 minutes after leaving a 5-star review I went to plug in this charger and it lit off a major spark and almost set my recliner on fire! Charger no longer works and has burn marks on both ends.ORIGINAL: This charger brings back the MagSafe ability in the previous Mac laptops. It works very well and I can see it's charging at 100% of what it's suppose to. +1

I bought this for my wife since she missed the magsafe cable she had on her older macbook air. I didn't need the full connectivity of the thunderbolt cable just a charger cable. I was impressed with the woven cable cover and the carry case. The magnet is a little weaker that she is used to but works fine. Simple and nicely done.

Initially, I loved this! The cable is flexible, yet sturdy. The magnet is strong enough to keep it connected, yet disconnect when needed to protect your laptop. The cable can attach either direction. All features I was looking for.However, After about 6 months, it started getting finicky. Sometimes the magnetic connection would attach, but no power. I’d have to jiggle it to make it work. Then, a couple of months later, it gave up the ghost altogether and stopped working.Had it worked for more than 6 months, I would have given it 5 stars. While it worked, it was awesome. But, if the life expectancy is only 6 months, that’s not good.

Update 02/03/2019:Still working. No sparks, no fried computer, no charging problems. Used daily, cable not broken, yet. Not sure what the other negative reviews did (using original wall chargers or 3rd-party, for example?) but I have had absolutely no concerns on my 2016 13" MBP (knock on wood).-----I love this charger. I've been missing the Magsafe ever since I upgraded to my 2016 Macbook Pro. Now, I finally have it back and it works beautifully. Also, the original Apple cable is very stiff - I love the flexibility of the nylon of this one. I also appreciate the angle of the cable; cables usually go behind the desk and I don't get why most cables, including the original Apple ones, have to go straight out of the port only to be bent 90°. This orientation is the more logic one and one my previous Macbook with Magsafe had. The adapter that goes into the Mac is inconspicuous, which is nice. The only thing I'm a little worried is about ever getting it back out, that's why I only give 4 Stars.I did quite a lot of research before buying this charger cable and was very worried because of many negative reviews on similar products, including the cable not working on Macbook Pros (mine charges my 13" Pro perfectly fine), the cable frying the Logicboard, the magnet being too weak (to me it has the perfect strength), the adapter breaking and just overall disappointment. Also, this specific cable didn't have any reviews at all at the time of purchase, which wasn't very comforting. I'm generally reluctant to buy third-party with those kind of things because one reads many horror stories about cables and chargers catching fire and so on. So far, everything is really great. I can't talk about longevity of the cable, yet, as I only had it a few weeks, but will update if it fails or breaks in a short period of time.

Now I have the same GREAT mag-connection I had with my older Macbook Pro, and no longer need to worry about someone tripping over my power cable and breaking things. Given how expensive Macbook Pro is compared to other machines of similar configuration, Apple should've done this out of the box... sometimes I think Apple is going backwards with their "innovation". This product corrects, what I believe to be, a flaw in Apple's new laptop designs since 2016. Works very well, and the quality of both the connector and the cable is great! This product was very thoughtfully designed - the best of its kind, in my opinion.

First of all, it looks cheaply made. Secondly, the adapter does not fit snugly into the port on my MacBook Pro, so it's a 50/50 chance when you disconnect the cable that the adapter will come with it. Thirdly, it randomly disconnects while using it. By far worst of all, my MacBook Pro stopped charging properly and then the logic board got fried. I'm very suspicious it was caused by this cable. Thankfully my warranty covered the repair, but this cable is going in the trash.

This cable is just what I needed to keep from tripping over the USB-C cable that charges my MacBook Pro and knocking it off the table and onto the floor. One of the biggest disappointments Apple made in the newer MB's is doing away with the magnetic charging cord (IMO). Now, if I trip over the cord, it quickly pulls away from the MB and harmlessly falls to the floor. Saves me from tripping, and my MB from getting wrecked.The cord is way more flexible and well made. I think this will be durable and give me years of good service!
