What type of internal paddle

The paddle/dasher is plastic even where it connects with the motor. Because it is plastic where it connects, it will eventually wear out and crack making it so it won't churn the ice cream when it gets really thick. We've used it dozens of times though and have gotten our money's worth. A new dasher is $5, but we can't seem to find one that is in stock.

Is the inside canister seamless?

My ice cream canister is seamless, made of aluminum; the wooden bucket has a plastic liner so that you don't have to worry about a leaky wooden bucket.
